We're sitting at lunch on a Tuesday when I notice Jeff suddenly get quiet, his attention totally away from our conversation. I watch his eyes, which are on a kid that I'm not really familiar with sitting alone a few tables away. I smirk, crossing my eyes, "Hello? Earth to Jeff?"

His eyes shoot over to me, "Sorry, what?"

I sigh, "Who are you staring at?"

"I'm not staring," he replies with a sigh, "I just feel kinda bad, you know, he's all alone and stuff.."

"Who?"

He looks back over at the boy and then back to me, "That's Hunter Clarington. He's new, he's in my Italian class..."

I raise my eyebrows, glancing over at Hunter, "Go invite him to sit with us, then. At least maybe then you won't be staring off into space."

Jeff smiles at me and stands up. I watch him with a smirk as he walks over to Hunter and starts talking to him. To be honest, I don't really care for loners, but something about him kinda caught my eye. He's way to attractive to not have any friends. It's not long before Jeff walks back over to our table with Hunter and they both take a seat.

Jeff grins, "Hunter, this is Sebastian, Nick, Thad and Trent."

Hunter smiles shyly, "Hey guys."

I observe him closely, "Hi."

After that, I don't pay much mind to him, but I can't help but notice that his eyes are on me 90% of the time during the rest of our lunch period. I give him a small smile as we leave the cafeteria and then carry along with my day.

The next day I notice him sitting outside after class, so I take the opportunity to talk to him. I sit down next to him in the grass, glancing over at his notebook, which is just filled with a bunch of math problems. He looks over at me, putting his work aside, "Hey."

"Hey, what's up?"

"Nothing, really, just working on some homework. If you don't mind me asking, why are you even talking to me?" He replies shyly.

I chuckle, "Honestly, I don't really get you. You're way too good looking to be such a loser..."

He looks at me with confusion, "I don't know if I should be flattered or offended."

I kiss him on the cheek, "Be flattered. I think you're hot, and my opinion counts for ten times everyone else's."

His face flushes bright red, "Oh, well, um, thank you, then..."

I lean back, stretching out, "You don't give yourself enough credit, kid. I'm not gonna ask you out, but if you were to be bold enough to ask me out, there's a pretty good chance that I won't say no."

He pauses for a moment, considering what I said, "Uh, wow, um..."

I sigh, getting to my feet, "I'll see you around, I guess..."

"Wait!" he calls scrambling to his feet and following across the lawn.

I look back at him over my shoulder, "Yeah?"

"Can I take you out sometime? Maybe this weekend?" He asks, suddenly bold.

I grin, "Hmph, that's the spirit. Pick me up Saturday at 7. See you then, don't be late."

He has a pleased yet dumb founded look on his face as I turn and walk away, amused and excited at the same time. I don't know what everyone will think of me dating him, but I don't really care. He'll go from nobody to one of the most popular kids in school as soon as people know about us, so I guess it's all the same, anyway.
