So, I haven't updated in ages, so I thought I should write something. This is just something I thought of randomly, so enjoy!
Percy knew gods could fade. He'd seen one fade before. Pan had faded because he was the god of nature, and mortals were destroying it. Percy knew if what the god stood for was gone, then the god would be gone too. So it made him wonder, how the other gods could fade. Zeus was the god of the skies and the god of gods. So if all of the gods were gone, then so would Zeus. But either way, Percy figured the sky couldn't exactly go away.
Percy also realized that it would be pretty hard for Hades to fade, as the underworld gained new souls every second. So if it was that hard fo Hades to fade, then it would be even harder for Zeus to fade.
The next god Percy thought of was Aphrodite. Percy knew that there would always be love, even if all the humans on earth died. There would still be the gods. And aliens.
Athena. Goddess of wisdom, warfare, and creative inventions. That was a lot of things that would be gone. But there were always human inventions, always wisdom, and warfare. Making it even more harder for Zeus to fade.
Hera wouldn't exactly fade easily. Being the goddess of woman and marriage, she and Zeus were married, so obviously, she wouldn't fade unless all of the other gods were gone. As much as Percy disliked Hera, she still played a big part.
Percy didn't exactly like Ares either. And war would always exist, as long as there were humans and immortal beings, Ares wouldn't fade.
A thought surfaced from the back of Percy's head. Compared to the other gods, Poseidon didn't seem very vulnerable to fading. Global warming was adding up, and in the next few centuries, there wouldn't be much of an ocean. Countries would be flooded, as the Poles were melting, and after that, earth would only be a giant ball of water. And as the sun heated up, the water would evaporate and become clouds. Then, the clouds would condensate, making rain. And it would never dry up, because the rain cycle would just keep repeating.
But even if Poseidon survived that, all of the humans would be dead, causing many other gods to fade. Poseidon wouldn't be able keep the planet in control if that many gods that depended on human life faded. And then he would fade too.
That brought Percy to another disturbing thought, that Gaea would fade if they drowned Earth. She was the goddess of the Earth. If they drowned Earth, Gaea would fade. It was that simple. But they wouldn't be able to pay the price. But when Percy thought about it harder, he realized Earth would be a lot safer without beings from Greek Mythology.
If there weren't gods, then Percy might not exist. Or maybe he would just be a normal person. A normal person not having to worry about getting killed. A normal person not having to worry about prophecies and quests. And that sounded sweet.
But if he was a normal person, he would never have met Annabeth, or Chiron. He wouldn't have known Thalia, or Nico. He would never had met Jason or Piper. Not Hazel, Frank, or Leo. Camp Half-Blood might as well have been a park. And Camp Jupiter might actually be a maintenance tunnel. If Percy was a normal person, he would have never achieved anything. He wouldn't have been proud of himself for accomplishing those quests.
Now when Percy thought back on it, he wouldn't have traded his life now for anything.
The End! I think I kinda went off track at the end, but I think it was pretty good.
Please R&R!
