A/N: My attempt at writing something scary... Set just after the Pandorica, and before The Impossible Astronaut. Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who.
Amelia smiled as the Doctor walked out of the door babbling about their latest adventure to Rory. She took a moment to linger in the large foyer of the mansion.
Outside the sun had set and the moon hung low in the sky. She grinned and turned to follow the Doctor and her husband, but something made her stop. She turned back around with her lips puckered and her brow furrowed.
Something had changed. She saw another flash, it was definitely coming from the window at the back.
She edged nearer and she did not notice the way the shadows seemed to grow into menacing shapes.
She could hear the clock ticking menacingly from the upstairs. Was that singing? It sounded as if a child was singing a song. She couldn't make out the words.
Amy advanced closer to the window until she was right below it. She could still only catch bits and pieces of the disjointed singing.
-you and I must die...
-goes the clock-
-held him and she cried-
Tick tock-
-for the Doctor-
Amelia pressed her ear to the wall and finally was able to make out the last two verses.
Tick tock goes the clock,
The cradle man, he rocked her
Tick tock goes the clock
Even for the Doctor
Tick tock goes the clock
He gave all he could give her
Tick tock goes the clock
Now prison waits for River.
The clock chimed midnight suddenly causing Amy to jump and the spell was broken.
Amy shook her head as a voice somewhere near her ear hissed, "Shhh. Go back to sleep." Which was silly, she wasn't asleep.
Amy turned and bumped into a suit. Well a man, Amy looked up and shrieked but her scream was cut off as the creature placed its thick alien hand over her mouth.
She heard the Doctor shout from seemingly far away, "Amy!?"
The thing hissed, "Silence will fall."
Amy shook her head and looked up, the Doctor and Rory were staring at her.
"Are you okay? We heard you scream!" Rory said as he looked over her carefully.
"I'm fine, sorry, I guess I'm not feeling well."
"Oh, well, if that's all." The three left the house hastily, something didn't feel right.
Amy, Rory, and the Doctor did not notice the shadow of a little girl's face in the far window.
The little girl was gradually fading from view as if something was pulling her away.
Her tear-streaked toddler face appeared to be wailing as her lips moved, screaming soundlessly the word- "Mama! Mama! Mama!"
