A/N: I don't know where this came from please don't kill me. Disclaimer: I do not own Babylon 5, though a girl can dream.
The Presence shifted and its mottled colors changed and shimmered. The ship hummed as a worker scrubbed the deck vigorously.
The Presence loved the dock of the station known as Babylon 5, to feel the thrum of people going about their lives. The worker jolted and looked up in terror as the Presence began to sing. The worker fled soon after.
Crisis after crisis was solved and as the Presence knew they would be. It's master- it's friend would intervene if anything was really life-threatening, if its masterfriend believed the station could not handle it, then and only then would its master take it into his own hands.
The Presence felt Shadows on its beloved station and it shifted in its spot in a irritated manner, it's masterfriend would take care of it. Of course, then they came again and again.
Then, it's master was destroyed by shadows. The Presence roiled and rocked in grief and anger. It's friend gone and past on into the void.
The Presence had felt his masters pain but could do nothing to help its friend. When the remains of its masterfriend were deposited inside itself, the Presence was angered and sad and happy.
It would be able to meet it's master and friend very soon.
Of course, a man came to say goodbye.
The Presence did not expect this to be the man it's masterfriend talked about, but it was. The Presence knew instantly a absolute and wonderful truth.
The man stood before the Presence a safe distance away eyeing it with wonder, curiosity, and sadness. The Presence reached out and sought it's masterfriend out in the man.
It felt him, it felt it's masterfriend, there curled beneath the humans heart and head shimmering in a ball of hope.
It's masterfriend lifted its head from its retreat from the outside world. The Presence and it's masterfriend shared one last greeting of thoughts and emotions, it's last farewell until they met again beyond.
Meanwhile, the man felt a wave of happiness and felt all was not lost as it seemed. The man left not knowing of the heartfelt exchange that had transpired there.
The Presence then kept its promise to fly away and join the rest of its masterfriend by flying into the sun.
The Presence's last thought was that had fulfilled its last duty, to its masterfriend- Kosh Naranek.
