Warnings- Spoilers... Artistic license...

Another one-shot that I wrote after Reddas died... I see a trend... Whoosh! And yes there is a part that is not actually true in this, but I wrote it and I liked it, then realized I was wrong... So using the powers of artistic license it shall be true for me at least!

"Reddas!" Vaan screamed, as he watched the sky pirate's body disintegrate. Falling to his knees, he noticed and was grateful for the comforting ringed hand that laid on his shoulder. Vaan knew he could be sentimental at times, but the man was an enigma that had interested him. Now he would never knew what laid behind the honor, trust, and caring nature that was Reddas. "Why did he have to do?"

Balthier looked up at the remains of the sun-cryst, feeling tears come to rest in his honey pools. "We all have to." His thoughts turned to his father, who had finally achieved what he wanted, what he wasted away for, for those six long years. Closing his eyes, he bent his head in a silent prayer.

The other's watched the two interact, acting as if they were old friends, and not companions thrust into a cruel world, by the mere chance of similar interests. Fran was the one who spoke first, her voice barely holding up. "It seems the mist is gone for good." Standing to her feet with the help of the Penelo, she pursed her lips together, rubbing her arms. 'It seems the burning has stopped.' She thought to herself, finding no evidence of her earlier pain.

The sound of a loud clank drew everyone out of their musing, turning their attention to the sound, the group saw the armor of the late judge Garbanth move, just slightly. Basch was the one to respond, rushing forward, he pulled off the helmet that had obscured any features. "Garbanth?" The traitor whispered to his impersonator, hoping to help the other.

"Basch…" The man's voice was weak, as blood poured out of his mouth. Coughing lightly, he tried to bring a hand up, but found it would respond.

Basch smiled weakly, unable to find hatred in his heart. All the contempt he had been keeping for those two long years in the steel cage, had vanished instantly. "Don't speak."

"My time…" The armor moved up, as the man beneath took a large gulp of air. "…is coming to an end." He looked up, his pools showing the torture he had gone through, pain laced throughout his movements. "I am sorry for what I have done to you." His hand, tried to reach far enough to touch any part of the man he had destroyed, but his luck failed. Feeling his last breath slip away, he looked at the other for reassurance.

"I forgive you." Basch whispered. A smile appeared on Garbanth's face, as his body slowly stilled. Leaning down to pay his respects, Basch lowered the man's eyelids, covering the glossy dead pools. Getting up, he turned to the other's waiting for them to be finished. He found them standing waiting for him. "I am done here."

"Shall we go?" Vaan tried to keep up his air of carefree humor and indifference, but the party could tell it was forced. Watching the nods, the blonde started forward, ready to confront Vayne with all the hatred, anger and pain he had. 'Reks, Reddas, and for all those who have suffered under this man, I swear I will kill him.' With those words running through his mind, he walked out of the lighthouse.
