You would think that getting over a death was easier than dying itself.
No, it isn't. Deaths are harder every time.
When Roy and Dick embraced, it wasn't because of Donna. And it wasn't a form of grieving or mourning.
It was a strange way of saying goodbye.
Because neither of the two heroes would know when they would see each other again...alive.
