Molly smiled as the music picked up and the guests began to dance where they stood. Her fiancé – Tom – was showing off his rather awful dance moves, but as she watched him, her attention was diverted by a tall figure moving toward the exit.

Her smile faltered as she saw Sherlock leave the wedding, his black coat in hand. Molly looked around at the other guests and realized that everyone – even Janine, the bridesmaid she thought that Sherlock might fancy – was dancing. No one was missing a partner.

Except Sherlock.

Molly considered going over to him and asking him to stay, perhaps even have a dance with her, but she thought it indecent, with her now engaged and over her crush on the consulting detective, or so she claimed.

But as the brilliant man walked away, Molly made herself a silent promise. No matter the circumstances, whether she was married or not, if the opportunity ever arose, she would ask Sherlock Holmes to dance.

And she would not forgive herself until she had.
