I couldn't resist writing this! I don't think I'll ever stop wanting (needing) more Percabeth fluff in my life. If you enjoy this, do do take a moment to leave a review! I promise you, they absolutely make my day (and week!) and never fail to make me smile :)

Disclaimer: If I owned the PJO series, I would be campaigning non-stop for a redo on the movies. Rick Riordan owns everything. Rick Riordan also made Percabeth happen. Rick Riordan is king.

He remembered seeing her smile for the very first time, the way it had crept across her face but had disappeared so swiftly he could have sworn it had been nothing but a trick of the light. He remembered craving that same smile every day of the year, going to the ends of the earth if it meant catching the barest glimmer of her smile.

He remembered feeling jealousy for the first time. He remembered watching heatedly as her grey eyes danced with laughter, shining in amusement as Luke cracked a joke. Envy had hit him like a tidal wave that day, relentless, unmerciful. It had been a struggle from that point onwards to keep his head above water, to pretend chains of jealousy weren't wrapped around his ankles every time he was around them, intent on pulling his head below water.

He remembered feeling possessiveness for the first time. She was blind to her beauty, but the rest of the world noticed every day. A good-looking boy with hair that shone golden in the sunlight hadn't been able to take his eyes off her. He remembered wanting to take her hand in his, wanting to fold his arms around her, holding in the urge to shout to the heavens that she was his and no one else's. Reality had sunk in later that day, and he had felt a sadness that had been bone-deep when he had reminded himself that she belonged to no one.

He remembered missing her presence in battle for the first time, the space next to him strangely empty, with no one to guard his back. He recalled having a sense of unusual dissatisfaction even as Riptide flashed and pierced, spinning in an intricate dance only he knew the steps to.

A grin stole across his face. He knew that for every opportunity he had lost in the past to see her smile, he now had a thousand moments to make up for it in the future. He smiled from ear to ear, for he knew the chains of jealousy around his ankles no longer weighed him down. The sadness in his bones lifted, for her hand was his to hold, her heart and mind, body and soul his to cherish and love forever.

His smile lit the edges of the earth, for Annabeth Chase was kissing him, Percy Jackson, in a bubble in the middle of the lake- and it felt like everything he had ever imagined and so much more.
