A/N: I don't own anything. The song is "Keep on trying" by Poco. I don't own the song, don't own the lyrics. I just adore this song!
I'm not happy with what I wrote. Will try to rewrite it asap. Some feedback is always welcome ;)
I apologise for grammatical errors (English is not my native language) and typo's
They had been sleeping together for two months now. It was a habit, but every time was different and every morning when Castle woke up, he was grateful for having the woman of his dreams lying next to him. Today was no different. Or maybe it was: he was awake before Kate.
Castle loved to watch her sleep. She seemed happy, relaxed. He gently kissed her on her temple, which made her groan a little as a sign of approval. He continued and made his way to her collarbone and went back up towards the spot behind her ear that always did it. And yes, all of a sudden Kate opened her eyes and she watched Castle full of playfulness. She wanted more and she wanted it now. Castle loved to tease her so he acted as if he didn't notice the desire in her eyes.
"I've been thinking: do we have a song?"
"Nope, should we have one?" The moment she said it, Kate realized it sounded quite frustrated. She didn't mean to reply so harsh, but she wanted to smell, taste and feel every inch of the man she pushed away for so long.
"Of course, every couple should have their song. A song that defines what they are, together. And when we hear it, we'll watch at each other thinking 'That's our song'. It will remind us of everything we've been through together. All the mountains we had to conquer to get where we are right now: you and me are us."
"Okay, I get your point. I think I know what's perfect for us."
Kate snuggled into Rick's arms and started singing.
"I've been thinkin' 'bout
All the times you told me
You're so full of doubt
You just can't let it be
But I know
If you keep on comin' back for more
Then I'll keep on tryin'
I'll keep on tryin'
And I've been drinkin' now
Just a little too much
And I don't know how
I can get in touch with you
Now there's only one thing for me to do
That's to keep on tryin' to get home to you
And I feel so satisfied when
I can see you smile I
I want to confide in
All that is true
So I'll keep on tryin'
I'm through with lyin'
Just like the sun above
I'll come shinin' through
Oh, yes I'll keep on tryin'
I'm tired of cryin'
I got to find a way
To get on home to you"
"Rick, you kept on trying and I'm so glad you did." Kate pressed her lips on Rick's and kissed him passionately.
"I'll keep on bringing coffee just to see that smile on your face. And I think I found a way to get on home to you. This song literally describes the first four years of our partnership. And I promise you Kate Beckett: one day I'll marry you and 'Keep on trying' will be our opening dance."
Kate couldn't stop smiling. She never thought she'd ever marry this guy, hell, she never thought they'd be in a relationship. But now, she could see her walking down the aisle and marrying her favorite author/partner/boyfriend. We are a perfect match.
