(AN: My second story published on ~ Beyond is just too fun to write, though next time I'll have some variety. Enjoy and review~!)
Los Angeles, California
9:04 PM
It was getting dark in the underbelly of Los Angeles. The sun had sunk well below the horizon, signaling nightclubs' openings and brave young men and women to take on the LA experience. This was also the time at which some iffy individuals chose to prowl the streets in search of some fool who was walking alone on their streets.
One such man of the 'riff-raff' community was doing just that. His name was Thomas Gully, an ex-mechanic who was struggling just to get by. Thomas used to work at a dingy shop downtown, Barry's Garage, until his boss caught him smoking weed in the back room. Now, he had no means of getting his "candy", other than leeching off of his already-reluctant sister (who later gave him the boot after her home had become a hot spot for dealers). When they're put in a situation like this, one must always be open to means of getting paid.
So there was Thomas, stalking the backstreets of his city. He had already spotted his prey and followed him down a quiet, otherwise empty road, a weak-looking man with messy hair. The mugger smiled cruelly as he withdrew a knife from under his coat.
"Hey! You!" The figure halted. Yes, tonight, he had quite the fool to take from.
"Yeah, you! You're gonna give me all the money in your wallet, and your shoes while you're at it!"
The man turned slowly to face his assailant, and Gully gaped at his bloody red eyes. The murderous smile that was scratched on his face made the petty thief's blood run cold.
"Oh, really? And what makes you think that, Mr. Gully?"
Unfortunately for Thomas Gully, Beyond Birthday was not a fool.
