"I hate stars." Kanda stated. "They're excruciatingly bright."
"Aww... that's sooo mean." Allen pouted. "What about shooting stars?"
"No. They're like comets and meteors. They kill people." Kanda briefly stated.
Kanda was getting bored with talking to the insolent bean sprout with his never ending questions.
"Aww... that's not true! You wish on shooting stars! And then they come true!!" Allen said excitedly.
They were on the front porch, gazing in to the dark sky, that was conveniently filled with constellations of stars. It was a truly beautiful night.
"Che. Like they'd ever come true." Kanda replied disbelieving.
"But they do! They do! When you see a shooting star, you have to quickly wish on it. And then it comes true!" Allen said smiling at Kanda.
Kanda ignored his smile and replied, "How do you know they come true? Isn't your life filled with misery?"
"So what if it is? My life can be filled with misery, but my heart isn't. I like shooting stars because they give you a hope that most things don't," Allen pointed out.
"Stop being so naïve. It's stupid the way you act. Dreams don't come true, and neither do selfish wishes." Kanda replied.
He stood up. He was sick and tired of having to talk to Allen all the time. Just because everyone else was on missions. Kanda slowly walked away from Allen.
"Kanda!!" Allen shouted, and gripped his wrist. "Don't be so mean. Dreams do come true. You just have to believe it!"
"No. I don't. Dreams don't. Deal with it!" Kanda replied angrily.
He had enough of Allen already. Allen stood up, still holding Kanda's hand, and pulled him into a close hug.
"Yes they do. My dream came true already." Allen replied defensively still holding onto Kanda.
"And what's that?! Eating one thousand plates of mitarashi dango?! That's most stupidest thing ever!" Kanda replied.
"No...
...It's being here with you."
Allen looked at Kanda's face. It was filled with... shock and surprise.
"So...? You're always with me in missions," Kanda spat out.
"I guess..." Allen replied.
He looked up to the empty night sky, still holding onto Kanda who desperately wanted to leave.
"Bean sprout... dreams and wishes don't come true." Kanda replied softly.
Allen just stared at the sky. The place was silent for a while...
"Look!" Allen shouted excitedly, pointing at a bright shooting star, "It's a shooting star."
Kanda stared at it in amazement. He never expected a shooting star to appear.
"Isn't it pretty...?" Allen asked.
"Bean sprout, I thought you were going to wish for something." Kanda asked mechanically.
"I don't need to. I already have everything in my arms," Allen softly replied, pulling Kanda into a soft hug.
"I love you, Kanda."
"I love you too."
Allen barely heard what Kanda said, but it didn't matter, Kanda had already pulled Allen into a soft kiss.
