He watched as Victor ran once again, past him; followed as always by trail of girls. Poliakoff scoffed, rolling his eyes and turning away from the crowd. In his disdain for his fellow Durmstrang students' popularity, he did not see the girl before he had smacked straight into her.
"Ow!" She yelled, and his arms quickly went around her to stop her from falling. He looked down at her and began apologising in his own language. She was just looking back at him, eyes wide. He cleared his throat and tried again, this time in English.
"S-sorree" he tried, giving her a small smile. With a little laugh, she smiled back. Her cheeks turned slightly pink as she moved some hair out of her eyes.
"It's okay!"
"Poliakoff," he said, laying his hand on his chest, indicating to himself. The girl shifted on the spot and looked over her shoulder. There was a group of girls standing meters away whispering to themselves.
"I'm Keira, Keira Porter," she said, blushing even deeper. Poliakoff chuckled, lifting his hand and grazing his thumb across her cheek.
"Why are you blushing?" he said slowly, tilting his head. She took a deep breath and stepped backwards, away from him.
"You were standing really close, and looking at me… like… that," she stuttered the last words, unable to take her eyes away from his.
"I'm sorree, Kee-ra. Have a nice day!" he nodded his head, bowing slightly and turning away. Looking back over his shoulder, he watched as she went over to the girls and they started to whisper furiously. With a smile he walked away. Now he could see why Victor ran.
