I Had To

The shot rang out, taking over any other noises that had been made. Sydney crouched behind a trash can, her mind was reeling, she didn't know where Gadge was, he had taken off after another man. "Come on out and play little Ranger," called the man in a sing-sing voice. He knew it was either him or her, one had to die and he was ready, although he had faith it would be her.

Sydney cursed under her breath before she thrust her gun over the can, taking a couple of shots at him. He smiled as he hugged the wall a bit before he took one shot, connecting with her shoulder, his smile grew when he herd her cry out in pain. "White hot pain spreading threw your body, blood pouring from her wound, what will you do know?" He taunted.

Her mind was reeling again, how was she going to survive this time? The foot steps didn't register in her until Gadge was standing next to her, his eyes were on her and the blood, he didn't seem to see the man holding the gun.

The scene seemed to move in slow motion as she tried fatally to grab Gadge's arm and pull him down, but the shots rang out, three of them, his body jerked as the bullets hit three targets, one in his arm, his chest and the last his neck. He dropped to the ground limply, her hand still on his, "Gagdge!" She cried, when he didn't respond she stood and took one shot, planting the bullet in is head before she dropped back to her knees, pressing her right hand to the wound in his neck she pulled her phone with her left, "don't dare leave me francise." She said firmly as she put the phone to her ear, "Ranger down, I need a medical chopper now!" She cried.

Gagdge opened his eyes ever so slowly, and gazed up to her, "Syd," he struggled to say as he reached out for her.

She shook her head, tears flowing freely from her eyes, "don't speak, save your strength, the choppers on it's way." She instructed as she pressed her hand against his neck a bit harder.

He forced a smile as he kissed his right hand before he brought it up to her mouth, his hand dropped away limply as his breathing became more and more struggled, coming is short, straining gasps, until finally his breath stopped, his eyes still open slightly, looking at her.

Futile she tried CPR, not wanting to give upon him until finally Walker arrived, he knelt down and checked for a pulse, when he didn't find one he pulled her up to his arms, "he's at rest Sydney, he doesn't feel pain anymore." He eased.

That was the day Sydney lost her partner, her friend and her true love.

Sorry I had to kill him off once to!
