Clockwork couldn't stop watching the screen as the boy he had learn to know as Daniel was doing his homework. This boy was his student, but he was so much more then this, Clockwork didn't only teach the boy, he also learned something from him.
The boy was able to teach Clockwork that you didn't just survive on power, but also on friendship, trust, and love.
Yes, love. Of course Clockwork had expierenced love in his life more then once, but only once had he truly loved with all his life.
He closed his eyes, remembering her. She had been so lovely. Not only did she have good looks, no, it surely weren't the looks he fel for, he had been a ghost, but so young... he still had the mind of a foolish human. How could a human ever think a ghost was pretty.
So if anything, Clockwork had fallen head over heels for this spirit because of her heart, she truely had a heart of gold, it wasn't until after ten years that he realised she actually looked good.
Her name was and might still be Nature, and she never seemed to be unhappy, it wasn't untill their fifth year fo being together that Clockwork realized she was in fact unhappy with her fate.
Yes, he was father time, but never did he know Mother natures heart was filled with sadness and anger.
Clockwork clunched his fist as a single tear escaped his eye, the screen had long gone black. "Hey Clockwork?" Clockwork fastly blinked to let his tears dissapear, and turned to the now white haired boy that was in his room, and not on hsi screen.
"Yes, dear boy?" he asked, the boy seemed brought of guard. "Are you... crieing?" he asked, Clockwork smiled. "Of course not." he said, deciding to ignore the fact that he actually was crieing now. The boy was really brought of guard now.
Daniel had never seen his mentor, or any ghost for that matter, crie.
"Clockwork? What's wrong?"
Clockwork couldn't really anwser that question, he didn't know how his thoughts had even fallen on her, hadn't he been watching the boy? So he could make sure everything was okay with this boy? But here he was, crieing about a woman that he hadn't seen for so many centuries.
But then again, it had been today he had met her so many years ago.
"It's nothing boy, is there something you want to speak to me about?" Clockwork asked, the boy slowly nodded. "Y...yes... but I... forgot." the boy really seemed of guard now.
Clockwork slowly sighed. "Mother Nature, I met her five centuries ago today." he said, the boy looked up at him. "Mother Nature?" he asked. "My wife." Daniel nodded.
"Wait, you have a wife?" he suddenly asked. "Yes, but she left me several years ago, well, she went out for a task and never returned, I fear the worst."
The boy seemed to remember something. "What about Undergrowth?" he slowly asked. "He... well... that's her son. And my son. Our son."
Daniel nodded and left.
"She was the only one I ever loved..." Clockwork whispered.
