This is my first ever Fanfic, so please be nice…

Disclaimer: Obviously I don't own these characters.

Enjoy.

His familiar smell made my breath come easier and the worries fade away. Nothing could touch me when he was near. No Faerie, Demon or God. I was safe here in his strong arms.

"No one is going to hurt you Cassie, I won't let them." They were dangerous words, because there was no way he could be sure of that promise. Someday and probably someday soon, someone was going to get lucky and really hurt me. Perhaps it would be an accident. A stray bullet in one of the many battles we have that just so happened to catch my head. Who knew?

For now though I would believe him. I close my eyes and lean into his heavily muscled torso, clutching my arms desperately around his shoulders, wanting to hide in his nearness, away from all the things I feared.

Pritkin will keep me safe. He always has…he always will.

"Pritkin …" I sigh.

"Cassie wake up!" An abrupt shaking motion drags me unwilling back to consciousness.

"Ugh." I gargle sluggishly. The movement continues until my eyes snap open with ferocity.

"For gods sake, WHAT PRITKIN? I was having a good dream!" The look on his face is priceless. He goes bright red and turns from me, releasing my shoulders as he does so. I don't think I have ever seen him blush, to be honest I believed him incapable of it, unless he was angry.

"I uh, thought you were having a bad dream. " he looked even more sheepish if possible. "You said my name." Now it was my turn to blush.
