I blushed fiercely, my face turning nearly as red as Ginny Weasley's hair. Speaking of which, where was she? I needed her, tonight more than ever. I crossed the common room in a flash, bolted upstairs, and swept into the girl's dormitory.

Ginny sat on her bed, gazing out at the stars. She looked wistful, and I almost didn't say anything. But as she heard the door close behind me, she turned, a wide smile brightening her face.

"Well, well! Look who's finally back from the library! What time is it? 11:00? I waited for ages in the common room, but you never showed."

"Yessss, I know. Gin, I gotta tell you something. It's big."

Ginny sat up straighter, her eyes widening. She scooted forward on her bed, offering me a seat.

I sat down, and began my story.

This what the night Viktor Krum had asked me, Hermione Granger, to the Yule Ball.
