Chapter 1
18 year old Kyoko stood at the doorway of her home in Kyoto, Japan awaiting the return of her father. He had been at an archeological excavation in Egypt for the past three months. True, she had here younger brother to talk to, but having the company of a ten-year old wasn't exactly what you would call fun. So before her dad got home, she made sure he was well fed and in bed at 8:00. Kyoko sat on the couch watching one of her favorite shows when she heard the long awaited door bell ring. She shut off the TV and opened the door.
"Dad! I'm so glad you're home; Sota has been the biggest pain in the butt! How was the return trip?" she said excitedly as she helped bring in her father's luggage into the living room.
"The trip was good, even though we hit a little turbulence on the return trip. Sota's been that bad, eh? Well, just wait until you're married and have kids," he laughed as he watched his daughter's eyes widen about his last remark. "I have something for you. I found it at the site, and I thought you might like it," he handed her a box covered in brown packaging paper.
Kyoko ripped off the paper and gazed at a beautiful golden ring. "Hikari, you are now mine," she heard a voice whisper in her ear. Kyoko quickly turned her head and saw no one behind her, so she shrugged it off thinking it must have been the wind. "Dad, I think it's a necklace, but there isn't a rope or anything to hold it, "she said holding it up to her father.
"Good thing I have a rope for it then. Here, "he said handing Kyoko the rope. She treaded it through the hole and her father tied it around her neck. He looked at his watch and sighed, "Kyoko, it's almost 9:30 and you have school tomorrow, so I think it's time for you to go hit the hay."
"Okay, Dad, "she laughed as she stood up. She hugged him and went upstairs to her room. As Kyoko entered her room, she put the ring around her neck and went to sleep.
Standing at the foot of Kyoko's bed was a man with white hair and blue eyes. Kyoko opened her mouth the yell but she was unable to. The man opened his mouth, "Kyoko. Hikari. You are now mine." He crawled on the bed. She tried to get away, but was frozen. "You can not escape me, Hikari. You are mine," he smiled. He came closer and closer to her, now mere inches from her face. He pressed his lips against hers hard. He slowly licked her lips wanting to go further. With the little power she still had over her body, she tried to stop him, but was unable to, for he did.
Feeling his tongue in her mouth her body wanted more, but she herself wanted to get away. She tried to bite his tongue, to no avail. Instead she ended up kissing him back, but even harder than he was. She heard a soft growl made by the man. He stopped and moved to her neck, his hands moving under her shirt. His hands then paused and moved the opposite direction. Then almost as suddenly as he begun, he stopped. "I must go Hikari. Remember my name. Bakura." He dissapeared.
Kyoko awoke at once, her entire body shaking in fear. That was no dream, she thought, turning on her light. That felt too real. That man seemed too real. She looked at the foot of her bed and saw the ring laying there with a strange glow. She blinked and the glowing stopped. That wasn't a dream, and she knew it.
