"Do we ever have children, River?"

Her heart twanged. "Spoilers, sweetheart."

The Doctor bopped his foot on the bed and continued to stare at the ceiling while she removed all her jewelry. He looked positively adorable like that, River noted. Laying across their bed with his hands behind his head and his ankles crossed. Such a young face for such an old man. But, this was the face she loved so much.

"Can I please know?"

River smiled. "No, sweetie."

"Is that no, we don't have children, or no, you won't answer me? I have had children before, you must know that."

"No, I won't answer you. You know what happens when people have knowledge of their futures."

"You know stuff."

"I will know stuff, you mean?"

Turning his head, he squinted and studied her face. "Well, I suppose you're earlier on than I thought. Yes, will know. And know now, in a manner of speaking. Ah, why can't I shut up?"

"You do have a habit of talking, and talking, and talking..." She continued on and laid next to him, snuggling close to his side. He smiled and wrapped his arms around her, kissing the top of her head.
