First Day of School

Blue Family AU. Church is a single father, Tex is the mum but she's not around (she's either away or dead but I'm not sure). Tucker is the oldest and Caboose is the youngest. I haven't added much description about about hair colour and the like because I know that everybody has their own image of what they look like under the helmets. And finally first names will be used, a kid called Caboose sounds slightly weird, no?

"Michael, you'll be fine. But it's time to get going." Leonard Church sighed, it was Michael's first day of school so he already knew this was going to be a long day. But his youngest was making this harder than it needed to be. Then again, Lavernius was not making things easier.
"You better behave Michael, if you don't they'll lock you in the storeroom."
"Lavernius!" Leonard scolded. At this rate they'd never leave the house today, never mind get to school in time. "He's lying Michael. Everything will be fine, maybe you'll even enjoy it."

"But I don't want to leave Andy alone!" Michael looked on the verge of tears. Leonard sighed again, he could never remember his first day of school being this emotional. This was Michael though.
"Who said Andy couldn't come with you?" Leonard exclaimed, forcing a smile. They really needed to get going.
"Yeah, it's not like anyone would notice. He is imaginary." Lavernius shouted from the door.

"Andy can come with me!?" Michael shouted, apparently deaf to his brother's comment. Leonard's answer had defiantly perked the young by up. He couldn't wait to go to school now.
"Hurry up Dad!" We've got to go!" Michael shouted, running to join Lavernius at the door.
Leonard let out something that was a cross between a chuckle and a sigh. He loved his sons, he really did. But sometimes they didn't half make life difficult.

When they finally go to school Leonard helped Michael get out of his car seat.
"Make sure you look after your brother." Leonard turned to Lavernius. "You know what he's like."
Lavernius nodded, taking Michael's hand he led him through the school doors. Leonard watched them go, the silence was a slight relief but he already missed the boys.

"Dad! Dad!" Michael was the first to run out of the playground at the end of the day. As soon as he reached him Michael jumped into the arms of his father. "I drew you a picture!"
Leonard gently took the picture from his sons hands. Michael had drawn a crude drawing in crayon. He could make out who he supposed was him, Lavernius and Michael himself. 'My familey' was scrawled on the top of the page.
"It's lovely kiddo." Leonard ruffled Michael's hair. "You make any friends?"

The nod that Michael gave Leonard relieved him, that was the biggest thing that Leonard worried about when it came to his youngest. Many parents said that their children weren't exactly normal. But when it came to Michael, well... he really wasn't normal.
"I coloured with Franklin."
Leonard nodded, he would have to invite Franklin round one night of tea. Michael would enjoy that.

Leonard looked over to where Lavernius was still talking to one of his friends, Dexter his name was.
"You coming Lav?" Leonard shouted over, catching his sons attention.
"You wanna go get some ice cream?" He asked when Lavernius had made his way over to him. Of course this suggestion was met with agreements all around.
Overall, the first day of school could have gone worse. We'll just have to wait and see about the rest of the year.

Review if you liked this. I do have some more ideas but I'll probably release them as different stories, so if you want to read some more be sure to follow me.
