This is my story: The tale of how I came to be with him. It has it's ups and downs, twists and turns...My love for him is so great...I defied the laws of this world. Here is my story...
"It's time to go..."
My Hazel eyes stared at the razor on my dresser...I had made up my mind and I wasn't going back on my word...Life was meaningless to me now. I was going to be taken away and tortured anyways. I had been found out...
Narrowing my eyes, the razor suddenly floated to me, landing in my hand.
I was born with these weird gifts. I could see auras, fairies, random ghosts, levitate items. Jump at an incredible height...But they only just appeared after my family decided not to care for me anymore. My anger brought it on. I was keeping these powers under wraps. But the secret got out and now I was locked in my room. The housemates were terrified of me now. I was put into this facility for nutters because of my instability... I could never harm them.
I could only harm myself...
I held out my arm, staring at my scarred up skin...I had cut myself in the past before, but it was for getting rid of emotional pain. But now...
"...Here goes..."
Biting my lip, I quickly sliced into my arm. I let out a scream. Blood spurted from the veins. I could see the bloody white of my bone. My hand began to tingle.
My auburn hair covered my face as I leaned my head down. I had done something I shouldn't had. I had used my powers in a fit of anger to show them I was more powerful...That was my biggest mistake. I should had kept my power under control. I shouldn't have reacted in anger...
Soon my housemates were alerted. But it was too late now. I had cut into the bone and artery. It was over. Blood and life was pouring from my arm. I let out soft whimpers. I was going numb. Soon my life would end. I would be happier...
I welcome you, death...
It took a while, but I could feel the pain fading. My heart slowing down. My vision fading to black. I smiled. A tear went down my face. I'm not sorry for what I've done. I had begged for help several times from my family to get me out...My friends...nobody would aid me this time. Blood was pooling around my stilling frame.
I soon closed my eyes, waiting for death and the afterlife to come. Time seemed to stop. My hearing faded away. Silence and darkness met me. It was blissful...
"Aurora."
Something brushed my cheek. I snapped opened my eyes, finding myself floating in a bright abyss. Feathers floating down to me. They were pure white, some landed on me, some brushed passed me.
I was just floating there. I felt no pain. Only a endless sadness...
I was completely naked. A white blanket covered me somewhat. A memory flashed into my mind. I had seen this before. I was in limbo...
"Aurora. What you have done, you cannot take back. However, we believe in second chances." Spoke a gentle voice, though it was deep. Craning my neck up I saw a beautiful angel standing in front of me. My eyes widened. I never have once seen an angel. It was a sight to behold.
His hair was long, reaching to his hips. It was tinted violet. His eyes a light grey. He was completely angelic. Large white wings tipped with gold adorned his back. It took my breath away. He was beautiful. But the sense of something else was there. He was powerful...And not to be messed with.
"Second...chances?" I asked, my hazel eyes staring at him, which were now dimmed.
"You are no longer in your world. You are now in limbo. You have a choice, live again, or die..." He said, His voice sounding sad.
Slowly, it began to dawn on me. Was this...in my head? More torture to fight? Was I actually still alive? Was I...I felt my eyes narrow.
"And go to hell...Is that it?" I asked, wanting to roll my eyes. This wasn't what I expected. Hell was real? Whatever. All a bunch of bullshit. I must be hallucinating from slowly dying. But how was I still fully aware?
"Unfortunately. Since committing suicide is a deadly sin." It said, more feathers fell from the "sky". I wanted to roll my eyes.
"I don't believe in hell. Or this..."God" of yours. If there is one...God is all loving. Theres no satan, or devil. I-If Anything...There is only an afterlife..." I said, glaring at the angel. I had the extraordinary gift to see ghosts, sprites, whips as well. But never once had I come across a demon. They did not come from hell. They came from man. I could feel my strength returning.
"You cannot have good without the bad, or the entire universe would be off balance." He replied. I was now getting irritated with this "Angel". Was this something everyone had to hear before passing on? How foolish...How...annoying.
"Seeing is believing. I've never seen a demon. You expect me to waste my life going to church? Singing stupid hymns, reading a bible? I refuse. Go ahead and throw me into this "hell"... It doesn't exist." I said, not afraid of my fate. My beliefs were strong. Stronger then death...I refused to believe a God was hateful. That was not how I was raised...If only I was in a better place then this...
"You're fate is decided...May you rot in hell for all eternity." It said, not caring for my ignorance. His hand reached out, emitting shots of static. Oddly...nothing was happening. She was remaining in place. Hell was not opening up. Feathers continued to fall from the "sky." The angel looked on in confusion. Why was she still in limbo? What was happening?
I started to grin. "Where is your Satan now?" I asked, feeling quite pleased with myself.
The angel looked entirely confused. His powers were not working... What was stopping him from throwing her in there?! Suddenly, the abyss above her began to glow bright. She was going back to earth?! What was happening?!
He soon realized, it wasn't him that was controlling her fate. It was higher ups... Or...was it? Aurora looked up at the light, before grinning at the angel. "See yah." She said before disappearing into the portal like void, her laughter echoing.
The angel was left in disbelief. Why was she a special case? He turned around. "God? Why did you let her go?!" He screamed. No one had ever left limbo. That was his decision...
No answer came...
"W-Whoa...Where...am...I?"
Aurora blinked a few times. Her vision was entirely blurred. Her body felt a little drained but better then what she felt before... She reached up, rubbing at her eyes. Finally, her vision cleared.
She was in a dark alleyway of some kind. She sniffed, smelling filth and dirt. She felt he cold ground beneath her. Where was she? This was entirely new to her senses. When was the last time she was outside? Felt like ages...
She slowly pushed herself to sit up, before standing up slowly. She felt a little dizzy, but not miserable or achy thankfully. Still, she needed to wait a few minutes before moving too much. She leaned her arm against the wall, before blinking. She then looked at her arm, only to see them widened. "M-My arm..."
It had been completely healed. Only a scar remained, forever reminding her of what happened. She was surprised. She had beaten that "Angel" at it's own game it seemed. She began to wonder what happened. One minute, she killed herself, ended up in limbo, then somehow got on on her own...In under ten minutes? Shit, that was a world record.
She slowly started walking, finding the strength to her body, looking behind her once in a while. She started to come to realize something was off. It didn't seem...modern. "Was...I thrown back in time?" She mumbled, touching the walls randomly to help her think. Brick was everywhere. Cobblestone was everywhere... Street lamps were everywhere...Old street lamps...
She soon stumbled upon what looked like a pub. She stayed hidden behind a bush, her eyes narrowing into the dark. She got a good look at the people coming out of a pub. Many of the women wore long elegant dresses, which furthered her opinion. She was really in another time...
She stayed in the shadows. She began to think to herself, still trying to figure this out. Everything happens for a reason Aurora...Find your purpose for being here...Before you get spotted...You got yourself here...You can only get yourself out.
"John! Did you hear what that whore down at the pub did? She's gone barmy! A daft little shit ain't she?" One woman spoke to her supposed husband. Aurora noted the accents. It was clearly English.
Sounds like...Whitechapel?...The accents are really bouncy...Like a redneck swing to em...Sounds like I'm in the slums...My old friend has the same accent...
She looked up to stare at the top of the buildings. Perhaps she could...Jump...She would find her power better if she could take her power within her again...
Her eyes narrowed and she leaned down, feeling her body stirr with energy and life. Her eyes shut, trying to find the power within her core. She could feel it pulsate, giving her new life. New energy. She never felt so energized before.
She opened her eyes, grinning wide. She was...
She suddenly burst forward, her legs lifting from the ground. She had jumped and was now flying up into the air, before coming back down onto the roof above, albeit, not a comfy landing. She let out a loud squeak as she landed awkwardly on her rear. "OOMPH!"
She breathed heavily, her eyes wide with slight worry, yet pure excitement. She hadn't done that in years! The things she could do! The buildings and places she could explore!
"At least... I still have my powers..." She said in between pauses of breath, her eyes scanning the area of the town from above. Black smog was pouring out of some chimneys a few blocks away. It was too early for early 1900s...It seemed 1800s...Very late 1800s. It was actually pleasant to watch. It was quiet.
Very calmly quiet. So now she got it. She always wanted to live in this era. Victorian London. During the turn of the century... Maybe her subconscious was trying to keep her alive? No...That was foolish. She wasn't dead...She could clearly see, feel...Smell...She was alive...
She gave a soft smile. "I think...I'm going to like it here..." She admitted, accepting her fate in being in this strange new land. This was incredible. The best adventure ever, she felt like soaring! she could-
"HELP ME! ARGHHHHHHHHHH!"
Aurora's eyes went wide, her blood ran completely frozen. That was a death scream. A scream you'd only make if you knew you were going to die. The only last scream you'd ever make. Lets see, London, in the late Eighteen hundreds. You hear a random ass scream in the dead of night. Totally not a Jack The Ripper moment.
Wait, with her powers, she could possibly...
She jumped to her feet, ignoring the dull ache from jumping before. She quickly took to the rooftops, jumping along them with no problem. She was trying not to get caught up in the moment. But she hadn't been freed from her cage in years...
Another scream was heard. She tensed and ran faster. That was a harsher shriek, a last death scream...She leaped further along the rooftops. She never felt so alive being here. No longer was she held back by her past life. No longer was she trapped inside a bedroom and bars...
She then jumped from a rooftop, soaring downwards and landing slowly on the ground, once again using her powers. She could hear her blood pumping in her ears at this point. She felt tired at this point. She needed to conserve her energy now.
She didn't hear the screams anymore. She walked around in the darkness, possibly thinking maybe it was just someone getting mugged or teens fooling around. It wasn't entirely out of the question...People were mugged all the time. She couldn't get ahead of herself here. She just arrived, no need to play Hero...
But when she turned a corner she was met with a gruesome sight.
"...H-Holy shit."
A woman laid on the cobblestone. Her body was entirely limp. Aurora's eyes traveled up her body, eyes widening. Blood was pouring from her mouth. Her organs were hanging from her stomach. Her intestines were wrapped around her neck in some sick attempt to strangle her...
The most brutal murder she ever found.
Aurora covered her mouth, never seeing such a disturbing sight. She could smell the blood. How? How could she smell the blood? "Jesus..."
It was obviously too late for the woman. But for her...
Aurora felt herself get cold feet. She didn't want to face whatever this person was that did this. She needed to get out of there. Whoever was here could possibly still be there... And it was out of her league.
She turned to run, only to bump into someone. She blinked and looked up, seeing someone in a outfit which could only be describe as a officers uniform. But very old fashioned. The man blinked for a few seconds, obviously confused at what she was wearing and how she happened to be right there.
He soon grabbed her arm after a few seconds, "WE HAVE THE MURDERER!" He yelled out.
Auroras eyes widened. WHAT?! How could he think I did it?! But then the reality was her clothing. She was out of place. It was dark. She was dressed in male clothing. Bad timing. She needed to make a quick getaway. She felt her power building into her gut until she finally had to let it out.
"LET ME GO!" She yelled out, reaching around and punching him in the gut, a pulsating power shot up through her arm and doubled the strength. He let out a choked sound and let go, blood spurting from his mouth. Aurora didn't expect her powers to do something such as that. She quickly regretted this decision...She turned on her heels and let out a burst of energy, taking to the rooftops.
Gunshots were heard before her. She heard the whiz of a bullet fly past her head and she squeaked. They're shooting me! I take back what I said earlier! I hate it here! She thought, feeling so incredibly foolish for stepping foot here. Soon, she found herself far away from the scene. The yells and commotion soon faded. They were probably startled from the strange powers she held. This was something to throw in the papers.
"What...the fuck..." She said between breaths. She was shaking. She looked at her hands, watching static pulse between her hands, before fading away quickly. What was this?...She hadn't seen her power before in such a way. Suddenly, pain jolted through her side. "UGH! Ah...AH!" She slowly peered down, seeing blood quickly seeping through her white hoodie below her left abdomen. "...Fuck." She realized her adrenaline had faded, and she was bleeding badly. "..I've...been shot..." She realized. "I'm so fucked..." She whispered in realization. Getting shot like that, in this era. She had no chance of recovery. She could had been shot in the kidneys to make it a quicker death. But no, she was going to suffer.
"Hiihiiihiiihii~"
Suddenly a flash of white and black and a figure dashed toward her. She let out a gasp and evaded it, darting to the side. "AH!" What the hell was that? It was so dark it was hard to see clearly. And the pain was distracting her too much to focus. But how did she not sense the presence?
"Interestiiiing~" A deep voice sang, catching her offguard. Aurora tensed at the voice. Would she have to flee again? But wait, how did he get onto the roof? Her eyes squinted slightly, able to catch the figure in her vision. He was right there, hiding. And boy, was his energy off...
A sudden chill went down her back as what she saw next, a pair of greenish yellow eyes were staring at her from the darkness. It was probably the most frightening thing she had ever encountered in the darkness. But right now...No. She couldn't show fear.
"W-who are you?" She asked, gripping her side and wincing at the pain. If only she had been a bit more intelligent in what she had done and this never would have happened. But now her focus was shifted towards the strange specter of a presence before her. She was at it's mercy. Or his mercy...
"It's been a while since I've laughed this much. I've not seen somethin' like you in a long tiiiiime~... Whaaaat is your name my dear one?~" Asked the figure, seeming quite interested. The voice honestly creeped her out. Who talked like that? It was deep, coy, threatening, intimidating...
Aurora gripped her side, some blood dripped onto the roof, staining it. "You... didn't... answer my... question...but alright...It's Aurora..." She grunted in pain as some blood squirted from the wound.
"Oh my~ looks like you suffered a hit. Mind if I take a look?" He asked, getting closer to her. The figure was giving off an incredible aura of energy and bright lights. Aurora never seen anything like it before. Like a torch bug in the pitch dark...
She suddenly fell to her knees and whimpered. The pain was worse then slitting her wrists. Much worse. She grit her teeth, expressing her discomfort to the stranger. "F-fucking hurts...S-shit..." She whimpered out into the night. She had no clue about the stranger if he would help her.
"Oooh~ We don't have much time." Cooed the voice, who came over and lifted up Aurora. She wanted to protest but it seemed that he was helping her. "Up we go my mystery girl~." She looked up, seeing the face of a man with hair covering his eyes. Wait...Why was this so familiar? She couldn't think of a name. She couldn't think of the face that matched him. She was too tired to think...He felt warm against her chilling body.
"W-who...are you?" She asked him, pleading with him. He just grinned in response and started running from rooftop to rooftop with her in his arms. Something about him was familiar. The way his hair swayed, the way his voice sounded...The dark...fabric...
Hes...not human...Whatever he is...He saved me...but...why...
Auroras' vision faded then. And her lungs gave a long exhale. She soon fainted from the intensity of the pain in the strangers arms. It did nothing but amuse the stranger greatly. Yes, it would take care of her.
You poooooor dear~, I'll stitch you right up real pretty...~
