Firestar
As I glance around,
I see a mouse,
Upon the ground.
I creep toward it,
Licking my lips,
Knowing soon,
I will have my fill.
A sound rattles,
The mouse runs away,
I growl,
"Whoever took my kill,
Will pay!"
Suddenly,
I open my eyes,
And everything comes back to me,
As no big surprise.
I sigh as I walk out to the garden,
It is night,
The time where hearts harden.
I jump on the fence,
Then get ready to bound,
Into the forest,
Where I am later to be found.
Then a black cat walks by,
Saying 'Hi'.
Smudge had noticed me trying to leap,
And he begs me not to go; he will weep.
I told him I will only go for a look,
No fox,
Nor badger,
Will I discover a crook.
And so he shrugs,
And says 'Do as you please,
But don't come back crying to me and bended knees!'
I bound down to the dark forest,
And spot yet one more mouse,
I do as before,
But stay away from the house.
Then something startles my prey,
This time I am not angry;
Not this time of day.
I watch in wonder,
As a red tail drifts near,
Then...
Is that paw steps I hear?
Into me explodes,
A gray kitten,
Says its name is Graypaw,
If I'm not mistaken.
Two more cats step out,
One blue and one gold,
Majestic in everyway,
As Graypaw has told.
They saw me fight,
I ask a few questions,
They look at each other and ask,
'Would you like to join the Clan? Just out of suggestion.'
I say yes,
A day later,
And then,
Before I know it,
I am now leader!
