A/N: Hi I'm back with another Raoul/Christine fic. Thanks to those who
reviewed the last one. This is in Raouls P.O.V, and it is after Christine
tells him about the angel of music. This is a songfic, and I used the song
Focus who belongs to the guys who made Digimon. * means the start and the
ends of the lyrics. Please read and review, and flame if you like, but that
will be ignored or laughed at.
Focus
He was at the opera house with his brother, as he had been so many times before. She was standing on stage and singing her heart out. He wondered who she was singing for.
*Before I know it, I'm watching you
Still standing diagonally behind you
Is the focus of your heart
On me?*
As he looked at her on the stage, he remembered when they were younger and the best of friends. He remembered the incident with her scarf, when they met, and how they played together, when they were allowed to. And he remembered, when they would be sitting on the floor and listen to her fathers stories about the angel of music and little Lotte.
*We've been together since we were small
Running and falling, we were always laughing
I'm not an adult yet, but now you and I can
Run farther than we used to*
The angel of music. Was he real? Did he really teach her how to sing, or was it just something she had imagined, or worse someone who used her? She had spoken about the angel as if he was real, but still it was just a fairytale from their childhood, he couldn't be real. Whoever the man was, he would do everything he could to make him leave his friend alone, even though she was angry with him.
*It would be better if I`d never noticed
But I can't get you out of my head*
On the stage she had stopped singing. A man had come on stage to sing together with her. While the man sang, she quickly glanced in his direction, but looked away, when they made eye contact.
*You used to cry all the time
Now your standing in the light
Who is the focus of your heart?
That's all I want
To now*
It hurt inside when she looked away. Was she still angry with him? He really was sorry, when he didn't believe her, when she told him about the angel, and he wanted to tell her that, and make her believe him. In fact there was a lot of things he wanted to tell her, but it wasn't easy.
*No matter how matter much I stretched, I couldn't reach
But now I can open that door
The truth is that I want to tell you a lot of things
But it won't come out right*
Christine I only want to protect you, he thought to himself.
*We were always only protected
But now the one I want to protect is.*
The two people on stage were finishing their song, and everyone clapped. He saw his brother beside him, rise to his feet, and he stood up as well never taking his eyes of her. On the stage Christine curtseyed and smiled. She was standing in the light, and looked like she belonged there. With the angel. But no, he wouldn't just give up without trying again, he couldn't. No fake angel should take his angel away from him without a fight. I will save her whether she loves me or not, Raoul promised himself as he sat down again.
*Before I know it, I'm watching you
Still standing diagonally behind you
Is the focus of your heart
On me? Or.
I can't ask*
