He didn't know why he did it. It was rare that he let a human lay eyes on him. For the most part humans only saw his true form only seconds from their death-- for only the spilt second when the prey saw the hunter. So it was even more bizarre that he allowed this human to see his true form now, because he had no intention whatsoever of harming this child.

And she in turn, stood unafraid. If anything, she stood awed by his unearthly beauty.

She didn't flinch one bit when he walked closer to her. With round eyes fixed, she followed his movement until he had leveled with her on one knee. Her curious bright blue eyes shook with excitement when his enchanting amber looked back into hers.

"Hello." sounded the elegant voice. Her cheeks blushed and her lips pulled into a shy smile. They seemed to want to answer him but ended up being too shy. Instead, she raised her small hands and touched his face. Her eye contact never broke from his as her palm and fingers moved over his brow, nose and lips. Her fingertips lingered the longest on the angled facial hair about his mouth area. She giggled, enjoying the smooth feeling as she ran her fingers up and down the stroke of each line. He smiled warmly as her touch played across his face.

"Juliet--" echoed a singsong voice. With her hands still on his face, the child faced the direction of the call.

"It is your mother." he told gently. She cupped his angled jaw into her palm and nodded; not asking how and why he knew this, but strangely knowing that he would be gone when her mother would find her.

Puffing her cheeks stubbornly, she kept her hands on his face as if she would make him stay there. He chuckled warmly at her innocent actions. Taking her small hands into his, he kissed both palms. A small blush remained on her face all the while. "You mustn't worry your mother." She nodded softly.

"Juliet." A silver haired beauty made her way out of the woods, a basketful of wild berries hanging from aside.

"Mother!" Juliet called out. When she turned back the man was gone. A warm breeze danced in his place, her hands still held leveled from when he kissed them. Blinking, she turned round and round, looking all direction for where he may have gone. With her chiming laugh, her mother, graceful and willow, stopped her dizzying child with both arms. One arm she wrapped lovingly about her daughter while the other fed her small mouth a sweet mountain berry.

"Did you have fun with your friend?"

"I did mother." Juliet told. "But I didn't play with Nico today." she discarded her imaginary friend. The women smiled kindly as her daughter continued. "I met an angel today." she whispered secretively.

The women pursed her lips in pretend jealousy. "That's not fair, I want to meet the angel too." she retorted playfully.

"I'll try to get him to stay next time." the child promised. She reached to take her mothers offering hand. The mother and child made their way out of the woods. "Mother--" the women nodded for her daughter, "--the angel.. he had the most beautiful amber colored eyes."
