I wrote this poem as a dedication to the past of Kratos and Anna, and to the present and future of Kratos' life impacted by Anna's death. I don't own Tales of Symphonia. I hope you enjoy, it's not that good... xD Yes, I do support Kratos/Anna (Kranna) and I love that coupling. I'm not just a Kraine fan..

The Then and Now
I remember when I found you...
When you needed my protection.
Even though you were weak,
all I saw was perfection.
+ -- +
We were together as friends,
then became something more.
How we trusted and cared for each other
opened another door.
+ -- +
While I helped you get away,
We had a son-
Then they found us
so all we could do was run.
+ -- +
Then you were sickened.
Changed into a thing.
Attacking us all...
Our lives became as thin as string.
+ -- +
You told me to kill you
so you wouldn't kill Lloyd.
I knew I had to do it,
wishing it was something I could avoid.
+ -- +
I did it.
And it still haunts me now...
+ -- +
Because the darkness is a blanket
to keep me still,
To keep me awake
to know all of it was real.
+ -- +
To show me what I've done,
and never saying good-bye,
To always yearn
on wanting to die.
+ -- +
And I'm so cold.
I lost my heart.
I tried to save her.
I failed my part.
+ -- +
I failed to keep her alive.
I failed to keep her by my side.
I failed to let her live.
I failed even though I tried.
+ -- +
I miss her warmth.
I miss her smile.
But I know she's next to me
because her soul is free and versatile.
+ -- +
I love you Anna,
and I always will.
I will always remember you,
even when time becomes still.
