Sheriff Graham sat down at his desk in the sheriff's department in Storybrooke. He just couldn't get Emma Swan out his head; though, he thought it was because he not only put her in jail twice, but she also helped him find John Doe or David Nolan when he had gone missing.

Graham shook his head as he stood up and walked to the window to look out. He was kidding himself, and he knew better. He could feel what he could feel for her if they were together. He didn't know or understand why he could feel this way about her-her of all people. He did feel this though way without a rhyme or a reason.

Graham knew that if Mayor Regina Mills ever found out that he was harboring a crush on her kid's biological mother there would be hell to pay. He could even lose his job, and he hated this feeling. The feeling of being torn between his job and his potential happiness. He could understand why the mayor didn't like Emma; she was the Henry's biological mother, and that was enough said on that subject. He sighed and closed his eyes.

Graham thought the mayor, Emma, and even Henry knew the exact reason why there was something with the town. He could feel there was something, and he knew on some level that everyone in town knew that something wasn't right with this town. It sounded complicated, but he understood what he thought and wasn't sure why he thought that. He wished as Sheriff of Storybrooke that the townspeople would confide in him, but he knew they would go to the mayor or Dr. Archer Hopper.

Graham knew-because that's the way news travels in small towns-that Emma was staying with Mary Margaret Blanchard. They had become fast friends, he mused thinking about Henry's teacher. He was glad of it because then now he can look at Emma from afar, and maybe one day they can be together without the fear of knowing that his job would be in dire jeopardy.

The phone rang then, and Graham walked back to his desk and answered it. "Sheriff Graham," he said.
