A/N: Hello, I just finished watching Moulin Rouge on tv and there was one scene that I really though I could use for a fanfiction. It was my favorite part because it's so unexpected so here is the story. I watched to the end but I think I missed a chunk of the beginning. I am sorry, if something should be incorrect in detail. Please correct me.

"She does not love you!" Christian yelled and interrupted the Duke's explanation of his demands for the ending.

The blond haired man's eyes bolted to the writer. "What did you say?" He questioned menacingly.

In a lower tone Christian repeated. "I said she does not love you."

The Duke eyed the man suspiciously before his face suddenly lit up, without the previous threatening façade. Gesturing at the outrageous suggestion. "I know, I know! For pity's sake I was just talking about the play. Geez! Don't take everything to heart."

A soft "Oh" came from the humiliated man.

Continuing his speech, the Duke stated, "I am just not satisfied with Satine's character loving someone who could only offer her love. Most of the audience will be aristocrats, like me and they expect something they could relate to. Something with a realistic basis. That, is all I am suggesting." He paused. He walked up to Christian and put a hand on his shoulder. "Calm down, son. Breathe. What you need is a good night sleep. I am sure tomorrow will things shall look to be better." He turned back to the cast before strolling off, "This show should be about success, not some rubbish sappy love story. I am funding this production, and whoever pays has the right to demand change. Remember that!"

The Duke exited to retire to his quarters at his estate. Once alone in his private space he thought aloud. "Although…" He walked into his chamber, pondering. "May be she does. Tis' true that I have been getting strange looks from her. Why would she not? After all I am one of the richest men there, why wouldn't she want me? That boy is just jealous because he could never have the charm that I do." He laughed evilly as he poured himself a drink and swore to go through with his plan. He died of alcohol poisoning during the night.

Meanwhile in the apartment of Christian, Satine was trying to comfort the insecurities of the man. "Are my works not good enough, Satine?"

A pause, "Of course love, they are good. I think their brilliant, and if you were they wouldn't have hired you."

Through his sobs, "But you must remember my dear that you were the one who got this job for me. Oh, my love, I love you."

Their show was a major hit but Satine died, but Christian still remembered the good old times. He became a famous romantic writer by his works of the Moulin Rouge.

A/N: I know it is cheesy and unrealistic but it would be a simplified version of a happy ending for the storyline from the movie. I just wanted to experiment with this, and I don't intend on writing another on Moulin Rouge. Tell me what you think. I don't mind true opinions. Like I said, it isn't my best work but I had a quick idea for idea for a story and I wrote it as one shot. So all just tell what you think, I am just curious.
