Hey guys! I know I've got all my works on hiatus but I was so moved by Atonement that I had to write this ficcy and guess what? It's my first M-rated one! It's not very graphic; I don't think I'm ready to write that yet but anyway...here you go!

She remembered that evening so well.

She recalled every moment of that night in the library. She wanted Robbie, pressing her up against the shelf, she wanted the feeling of the hard, leather-bound book spines pressing into her back…

His hands running down her arms, fingers lighter than feathers. She could never forget how gentle his lips were on hers, the way he made her skin crawl in such an erotic manner as to cause her to yearn even more for his touch. The way the orange-gold flecks in his captivating, lust-filled eyes reflected the light into her own, every tone of the face she so desperately craved.

She longed to taste the inside of his mouth again, his own tongue waltzing with hers and their lips locking together like two pieces of jigsaw puzzle, the way his hips fitted almost seamlessly between the legs wrapped around them.

How she wished again for the sensation of his bare skin, wanted that strange warmth emanating from what seemed like deep within, needed to run her fingers through his soft hair. She wanted to feel the strong muscle beneath the dinner suit, wrap an arm around his neck and hang on for dear life as he drowned her in ecstasy…

***

Down in the underground tunnel, Cecilia turned over. Even with the thickest blanket wrapped around her she felt colder than ever. Because if there was no Robbie, she concluded, then there was no light, no warmth to guide her. She would be better off dead.

She could not feel the heat of his breath ghosting down her neck, and she shivered, lamenting its absence.

No more passion.

No more life…

No more.

The sound of a huge explosion from above and a low, groaning sound, combined with the flickering of the lights overhead only triggered a mere turn of Cecilia's head. And when seconds later the crash and appearance of the massive wave of frothing, chaotic water came into her view, she did not hear the screams and cries of those around her. Still propped up lifelessly, she let the water wash over her, filling her clothes with freezing cold.

The spinning of her mind seemed to intensify as Cecilia felt her thoughts slow down. Her vision, already blurred, began to darken.

Then all of a sudden a warm sensation enveloped her. She could now see almost nothing, but it no longer mattered to her, for she could feel again Robbie's arms, encasing her, his hair tickling her jaw as he leaned his head over her shoulder to meet her eyes. Light from seemingly nowhere lit up his eyes just like the last time she saw him before he left, glowing with emotions too deep to describe.

The last thing she felt was his lips brushing against hers once more.

And then the darkness took over.

...crappy ending much, huh? oh well.

For those who are very literal about things, Robbie did not actually physically appear to Cecilia as she drowned in the flood...I'm leaving it up to you to decide whether her mind played a final trick on her or that like...his soul came to welcome her to heaven or something. Or whatever. LOL, I guess the second one's more desirable and romantic, but then again, if you don't believe in stuff like that you can always assume her brain was going haywire...which it was.

I love this pairing. Such a sucker for star-crossed lovers. Bleargh.

Until next time,
