Disclaimer: I don't own Avatar, but I do own an imagination.
Remembering
The teenaged Prince of Fire walked out onto the deck of his ship, squinting up at the beautiful sunset before him. Zuko walked to the railing, still looking up at the sunset he said out loud bitterly:
"Thanks for making this the saddest time of day, Mom."
Zuko then closed his golden eyes and leaned into the railing. He was remembering.

It was sunset in the Fire Nation. A six year-old Zuko sat in the corner of a high palace balcony that overlooked the Nation's capital, playing with his toys. Suddenly a beautiful woman dressed in a red and black gown, with long flowing raven-black hair came rushing out to the balcony in tears. Not noticing Zuko she started to climb on top of the stony railing, she stopped when she heard the little boy behind her say:
"Mommy, where are you going?" His mother turned to face him, getting down from the railing, wiping her tears.
"I'm going away forever, my son," she stated in a soft, motherly voice.
"Why?" The woman knelt down to Zuko's height, lowering her golden eyes.
"Because Mommy can't live in a world where Daddy doesn't love her anymore."
"Well can I go with you Mommy," said the young Zuko with confusion and love for his mother in his eyes.
"No you have to stay here, because you're the only one who can save your father." With that she turned back climbing onto the stone railing.
"But Mommy wait…" Zuko said with tiny tears starting to well in his gold eyes. Hearing that, his gorgeous mother, he loved so much turned around, still standing on the edge of the railing, with the fiery sunset plastered behind her said:
"Goodbye my Little Prince, I love you." She closed her eyes, spread her arms out at her sides, threw her head back, and fell to meet her death on warm summer ground below.

The sixteen year-old Zuko opened his eyes again, stepping out of his flashback. With a frown on his face, he turned his back on the burning sunset. And Zuko walked back into the dark confines of his ship.
Well there it is, a little overdramatic I know. Oh well please tell me what you think!
