Tom Riddle was growing more impatient by the moment. Here he was, a sixth year on the path to greatness (well, not by ordinary means) and he had to teach some silly, ignorant girl how to conjure a patronus. Patronuses were incredibly complex magic and should never be attempted by children; they were not even on the N.E.W.T.s He could easily conjure a patronus. Tom smiled, a rare treat he allowed himself. He had better things to do with dementors than scare them off...
"She'd better get here soon, I've got an important meeting with professor Slughorn to ask him about those Horcruxes."
This gave Tom an idea. He wasn't quite sure how they worked, Horcruxes. But Dumbledore said she was quite intelligent. Tom doubted that. She was a Gryffindor, she liked Quiddich, and she was just so...unlike all of the other girls.
She diddn't wear gobs of makeup or giggle around boys. She was one of the few girls in the school that did not fawn over him like a lovesick puppy. She was...
She was here
Minevra McGonagall threw the library door open, a few strands from her long Cinnimon brown ponytail hanging loose on her face, red from the cold outside. Tom felt himself tense up as he saw her eyes, green like his. She had a tall stature and was not stick-thin like the other girls. She had a determined look on her thin face that was curious at the same time, almost like a cat. She took no time for introductions. She pulled out her wand
"Teach me." She simply said.
For a moment, Tom was speechless. This girl, this illogical behaving girl who would surely attempt and fail to defy him as he rose to power, was almost like him. She was wise, she did not surround herself with foolish friends and would not accept the heart of any lover.
Maybe she had a chance at a Patronus.
