A/N: Hello! Hi! Let me introduce myself, my pen name is iamhime-sehn, and this is my first fan fiction story uploaded. I really like "Twilight Saga" by Ms. Stephanie Meyer so much; it's been in my head all the time, I even dream about it, that I was a part of it. I'm just so sad that it ended so soon. I can't get enough of it, so I read some of fan fictions about it and I decided to have my fan fiction. I write stories but it always ended unfinished and I don't know how to end it (sigh). Well, I hope I'll finish this story with my new characters and Ms. Meyer's characters (cross fingers). There's no harm in trying as long as you enjoy doing it ^_^. I hope you like it (puppy-eye). Thank you.

Chapter 1: Hayley Jade Meyer

I always have this dream. It all started when my dad gave me permission to visit my mom in Forks, Washington.

It was a sunny day. I'm on my same spot in the middle of the forest and in front of a clear and beautiful pond. I walked to the biggest tree near the pond. I could hear a couple of birds nearby, exchanging songs for one another, the wind that blows to my skin, the ground beneath my bare feet and surprisingly no dirt on it. I was wearing a knee-length high collar white lace chiffon dress – that was not my style. I simply go with shirt, jeans and snickers.

It really felt so genuine and it made me felt free. It was so quiet and calm. I breathe and I could smell the sweet scent of my surrounding. I was enjoying my moment in this peaceful nature or should I say my private place, then unexpectedly on the other side of the pond, I saw a figure from a far. I thought it was an animal figure but as my eyes paid attention on that image. I figure out that it was human-shaped figure. I was not alone in my private place. I stared at the figure and it started to move, move out in the shadows of the forest. I don't know what I would do. Am I going to (A) run, (B) shout for help, (C) find object that can scared that person away or (D) just stay and do nothing? Well, I chose A, but as I was about to move my feet. I can't move them. Okay. Next option which is B, I opened my mouth but there's something on my throat and no sound came out. Let's try C, I looked around for the nearest object that I might find since I can't move but luckily I can't see any that could help me. Okay I gave up and decided to stay and wait, which was my last option I had in my head. As the figure stepped out of to the sunlight I felt my heart beaten faster.

Is this a nightmare? Please someone wake me up from this bad dream! I close my eyes and breath for a while to get more strength for what will happen next. As I opened my eyes, I can't believe what I'm seeing now.

It's a man. He's wearing a white body hugging shirt and white jeans. He's a bit muscular. Just like me he also barefooted. WOW! He's perfect. Wait! Perfect? Yes too perfect that his skins are sparkling when directly hit by the sunlight, what kind of creature is this? Is it a human, an animal or both? As it comes closer and closer my heart pound faster and faster. I think I'm going to collapse the moment his in front of me.

I took a deep breath and now he's in front of me. I could not see his face not because he's sparkling but distorted, just like in the television where they blurred the part that was gore. He held my waist and pull closer to him, he maybe knew that I'm about to collapse at any moment. He places his right cheek on my left cheek.

"Don't be scared." The mysterious man said.

I could feel his cold skin on my cheek, as well as, his voice. I don't know what's wrong but I smelled his sweet aroma, like a fresh rose that starting to bloom. I think I smelled that aroma before when I was young. Well, I could not remember some of my childhood years, during my vacation in Romania and woke up in the hospital. Well, that was another story.

"You're warm." He says. His voice was like music in my ears.

"Y-You're cold." My heart started to calm and I can't explain why.

He said nothing and he looked at me. Does he sees my face or also blurred? His free hand caressed my cheek and it was as cold as ice but it didn't bother me, in fact, I like it or maybe love it. I don't like winter or anything that's related to cold but this one's different. I looked at his blurred face, thinking that it was clear and I could really see his face. I held my hand to his cheek and felt the coldness of his hard skin.

"Jade…" He said in a sweet tone.

"Who are you? How did you know my name?" I asked.

He didn't answer my questions. His face started to move closer. Once he touched my lips, I kissed him back. I don't know if this was a dream or not. I could feel his touch. Smell his scent and this weird feeling. I never felt this kind of feeling before, so light and free and contentment and there's more that I can't find a right word to explain this kind of feeling but guess what - I love it. We pulled apart and looked at each other catching our breath.

"I don't want this to end," I said.

"Me either." His voice was to gentle and I thought I had a heart attack.

I hugged him like there's no tomorrow and he hugged me back. And now for the ending part, it always ends in different ways. First, the ground begun to shake and I fell, the next thing I knew I woke up on the floor. Second, I saw a boomerang coming and it hit me, my book fell on my face when I put it on my bed's head table. Third, there was a big tsunami and it hit us and woke up in my bathtub drowning. Fourth, I heard a horn at the back. I turned around, I'm in the car with my dad – Scott, driving the car and we were in the middle of the traffic. What will it be now? I heard a sound, it comes louder and louder.

"Here we go again. What could it be this time?" Clueless about what will be the ending to this dream.

He grinned. "It's a big one."

"You hear it?" I asked.

"Bye for now." He kissed my neck and took his arms off around me.

"See you again," I said.

He stepped backward and waved at me. He turned around and started to walk. I watched him go, until he disappeared from the woods. I turned to the place where the sound came from. I saw a big mobile phone rushing towards me. I started to run but that was too late and it bumped me. As I open my eyes. I saw a white ceiling and a back of a seat. I realized that I was in the airplane. I'm on my way to visit my mom – Lillian. I looked to the person next to me as she turned her phone off. She looked at me.

"Sorry, did I wake you up?" She asked innocently.

I smile. "No, ma'am, I'm already up when your phone starts to alarm." I don't know it that's convincing or not.

"I have to drink my medicine on time."

"Oh, okay." I take the curtain off the window and the sun begun to shows up.

I looked outside and traced my lips without knowing it. Does he ever exist? Does he also dream about me? I have many dreams but this one's so different it's so true that my five senses reacted to it.

I decided get my sketch book and started to draw. I started to draw every details of it. Starting from where I stand until the last thing that we did. I'm not going to include the ending part but I decided to add it as the fun part.

"Nice drawing, my dear." Looking on what I was doing.

"Thanks." I glanced at her and get back to what I was doing.

The plane arrived at the airport at exactly eleven-thirty in the morning. The flight took about 5 hours and 35 minutes. At the terminal, I gazed around for a familiar face that I never seen for five years. I hope nothing change, so that I could see her immediately.

"Over here, Jade!"

I looked from the crown and I saw my mom, waving at me.

"Mom," I looked at here for a while, familiarizing her face.

I felt that my eyes are getting wet. I yelled and run to her. "Mom, I miss you so much. It's been five years we don't see each other." I hugged her tightly.

"My baby, I miss you too. You're taller than I am now and beautiful. I like how you dress now." She looked at me from head to foot. I was wearing a black jacket with inner white long sleeve blouse. I matched it with a knee-length beige skirt and paired it with a black legging. I wore my black hi-cut boots that really compliment with my outfit. I let my brown wavy hair down. It reached below my shoulder blades. I also have bangs, which was below my eyebrow. I always do ponytail and pin my bangs when going outside the house. But on this special day I have to give an effort about my looks and my twin sister helped me with it because I'm meeting one of the important person in my life aside for my dad and my twin sister.

"Of course, it's a special day with a special person." I showed my huge smile with teary blue eyes.

We looked at each other and we both started to cry and laughed at the same time, if we're not in the airport maybe all of them thought that we're both crazy but we don't care we missed each other so much.

"You didn't age a bit. You're still the same the last time we saw you."

My mother really did not change a bit over the five years that I did not see her except from her brown hair, which was shorter, that before. Her blue eyes that always smiling every time you looked at them. Her laugh lines showed that she's very happy to where she is and to her work. She really took care of herself very well and it showed in her aura. She wore a black jacket with inner white shirt and black jeans with white flat shoes.

"You never changed. You still an habitual joker like your Dad."

I laughed. "No, I'm not. I'm just telling the truth, like Dad."

"How's your dad?" Her eyes reflected her concern and love as she spoke those words.

My parents were - what should I say, they too cheesy with each other. Every week they called each other and exchanging sweet nothings. My sister and I have to leave my father alone because we can't stand their sugary words. So, when Skype came, OMG! They Skype all the time when our dad has free time and it took forever. I'm still amazed with their relationship up until now that they have two wonderful girls, they still liked teenagers. You know what I mean.

"He's fine but still he misses you. After his hectic schedule he will visit you and both of you will have a good time together. Just like the old times." I remembered something and place my hand inside my bag. I pulled it out.

"Here, love letter from dad." I handled it over to her.

"Oh, how sweet, I Skype him later when we get home." She folded it and put in her pocket. "Let's go?"

Here we go again. I hope I won't hear their exchange of cheesy conversation. "Okay, I'm ready," I said.

We walked to the place where she parked her car. It's a white Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. She brought some of my luggage and placed it at the back of car.

On the road, I gazed the scenery outside my window, and it made mesmerized with its beauty. I automatically glide the window down. The wind was a bit cold, I breathe and the air is so fresh. Different from where I lived in - LA, California, the one of busiest place. From buildings changed to trees, airplanes to flying birds, horns and other noises to the sounds of the nature.

"You like the scenery? It's different from where you grow up." She kept her eyes on the road.

"All I can say mom is "WOW!" I thought this place doesn't exist in this modern era." The view was so beautiful I couldn't take my eyes on it.

"Nature is their source of living, so they protect and value it a lot."

"This place is so magical. It's hypnotizing. It took my breath away."

"It sure does." And she smiled while looking on the road.

"Magical, meaning paranormal stuff going around here?" I sounded like my twin sister, addicted with paranormal stuff.

"There are."

I gazed at my mother, amazed of what I heard. "There are? What are they?"

"You acted like your sister." She took a glance at me and back on the road. "You're not Hayley Jade, aren't you?"

I looked at her and pouted. "Mom, I'm Hayley Jade, the loner one. I'm just curious but that doesn't mean that I'm Claire Madison, the weird one and obsess with this supernatural stuff."

My twin sister Claire Madison Meyer was the opposite of me. Even though we have the same physical features doesn't mean that we have the same way of thinking. She's into fairy tales and I'm in the reality. She's girly and I'm a bit boyish. She's friendly and I'm not. She's talkative and I'm the quiet one. Being the weird one, she's got admirers and I have bashers. She's not like that before but after they attended this festival in Italy, called St. Marcus' Day, as I remembered when we were young and things changed around her. She was now into as I called them eerie stuff that only weirdos believed with. But I love her and she loves me as well.

"Don't call your sister like that." She scolded me.

"Sorry." I smiled apologetically at her.

She sighed. "How is she?"

"Good as ever mom. Don't worry about her she's doing fine." I was trying to lighten her mood. "She's beautiful as ever that's why she got more admirers every year."

"What about you?"

I didn't say anything until my mom called my name waiting for my answer.

"Let's just say that I need fresh air that's way I'm here with you." And I sighed.

My mom frowned at my answer but decided not spoke and focus on the road.

"So what's keeping you up here for so long?" I changed the topic. I don't want any awkward silent between us.

Lillian Marie Meyer, my mom is a well-known botanist. She wrote some popular books that told about her research on new plants that her and her team discovered. I know her team and their also from California. They are a team right from the start.

"There are so many things to discover here."

"This is interesting than Amazon rainforest?"

"It's not like that my dear. Amazon is much bigger that this. There's something about this place that I could not decipher. And I want to find that out."

"There's also in California."

"Honey –"

"Okay I think we'll end up and a major fight here. I just miss you – we missed you so much. We want you to come home and be a complete family. We missed your cook and your lullabies before going to bed and dad was suck at those things." My voice broke and ready to cry again.

"I know honey, same here." Her voiced soften and felt she's about to cry. "But you have to understand that this is the field of my work. This is where I'm happy about. Your dad and your sister understand and they support me all the way." She gulped and continued. "I'll come home soon. I promise that."

I smiled at her. "Okay mom. Don't take too long."

She laughed. "I will."

"Tell me about this eerie stuff that you mentioned earlier." I looked back outside my window.

"It was just a myth circulating around the reservation."

I don't know why this myth thing got my attention. This was not my thing. Maybe my twin sister influenced me somehow.

"Could you tell me about it?" I couldn't believe I said that.

She glanced at me with suspicious look and look back on the road. "I just thought your sister liked to hear this kind of stuff. I didn't expect it from you as well."

"She will be envy at me when I told her about it when I call her later." I showed her my mischievous smile.

"Hayley Jade, don't make your father suffer." She knew the minute her other daughter found out about this stuff she will do anything to pleased his father and be here as well.

"Don't you like the idea that both of us are here with you." I pictured ourselves with our mom trying to get us because of our misbehavior.

"I love that honey but when you two both got together - its double trouble. I don't think my house or my neighbor could handle it. You thought I never knew what you guys were doing. You're giving your father a hard time." She was starting to show her sternness on me.

I held my arms in the air for surrender. "Okay mom that's enough. I surrender. I'm here to spend a wonderful time with you and not with your discipline. No to wrinkles." I'm trying to ease her mood.

She smiled. "Good thing that you know. I just don't want Scotty to see me ugly after a long years being apart from each other."

Okay change topic before we get into the cheesy stuff.

"About this myth we're talking about earlier." I just could get enough curiosity about it and I can't explain why it got in to me. "Have you seen far enough?"

"In my five years of staying here - none. There were areas that prohibited to us get in. Rangers are guiding us."

"Maybe those prohibited areas are the place where you could find what they're talking about."

"I don't know - maybe." She chucked. "It's all about the cold ones and the warm ones." She muttered and my ears didn't miss that.

"What's that zombies and humans?" She looked at her not saying anything. "Is that a zombie apocalypse?" I really shouldn't watch that World War Z because I'm getting paranoid. I'm not a fan of horror movies but with Brad Pitt in it, I just took the courage to watch it and my sister also drag me to the cinema to watch it.

Lillian laughed. "No, cold ones were vampires and the warm ones were werewolves. The warm ones were the protectors of this place against the cold ones who want to intrude here and hunt for human blood. But there's one family of cold ones who live here and agreed with them that they will not hurt any humans here or any tourist and until now they do not break the treaty."

"Wow." She paused for a break and realized something. "Did you just say until now?" I frowned.

"I just heard it from an Indian elder in the reservation. But we don't take that seriously because he's drunk and he might just trying to scare us. The ranger said he don't like visitors in his place." Lillian finished her story.

I gazed back at the scenery outside my window. A myth about vampires and werewolves, does it really exist? Vampires, who disguised as beautiful creatures and fooled innocent humans just to drain their blood as their source of their food, could they detect it someone has a serious illness? If they drink that, will they be infected or have a bad effect on them. I remember the last vampire movie that my sister insisted for us to watch. It was "Interview with the Vampire" with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. There were both handsome. Well, I didn't understand the story due to ogling and drooling over them. You can't blame me, I'm just so weak. I hope you understand.

As for the werewolves, they are humans that transformed into big human werewolves every full moon. So little thing that I knew about them, as they turned into wolves, they loss control of themselves and howled.

I guess I like vampires and not those werewolves. What will I do if I get lucky to see just any one of them? If I got the chance make it alive, I'll take them a video or picture. I'll sell it to the press and become famous. Wait! Vampires don't have reflection, how am I supposed to get a picture or a video of them? Seduced one of them? Yeah right, as if I am the most beautiful girl in the world. How about my blood?

Wait! Why am I thinking these nonsense things in my head? I shook my head. I don't want to turn out be my twin sister. One weirdo is enough and that's it-end of this crazy stuff. I'm here to unwind and feel the new surroundings. Forget everything and leave them all behind. It's time for a new start. My eye lids got heavier and heavier and I drifted in to a peaceful sleep.

I wake up in front of my mother's house. It looked simple from the outside. It is a two-story house. The walls were cream and a red rooftop. It also has a little garden with kinds of flowers with kinds of colors and its kind. You can't see what's inside due to the curtains.

"Here we are." As Lillian close the door of her car.

"It's beautiful and simple." Staring at the house where I will stay in for the next two months.

"Let's go inside now." She started to unload my luggage at the back of her car.

I started to walk in front of the wooden gate when someone caught my attention. A not so old woman came heading our way.

"Are you Lillian's daughter?" she asked, wearing a smile on her face.

"Yes I am." I reached my hand. "I'm Hayley Jade but you can call me Hayley."

Well, here's a thing about me. My family, best friend and people, who are close me called me by my second name. I used my first name to people who I don't know yet.

She held my hand with her both hands and squeezed tightly. "Hello, I'm Lisa Brashtone. I lived at the next house."

I noticed that the houses here are far from each other. It's like two more houses can filled the space from my mother's house to Ms. or Mrs. Brashtone's house. Her house was also the same as my mother but the difference was the color, which was light green.

"I lived there with my husband and a daughter." While pointing her house two blocks away from their house but the other hand still holding my hand.

"I also have a son. His name is Terrence. He'll be home soon for vacation. Maybe you could date him while both of you were here. He's a good-looking guy like his dad." She giggled, maybe picturing us being together.

"Ah..." I'm starting to get uncomfortable with this conversation.

She held my hand with both two hands again. "If you stayed here with your mom, I give you my permission to date my son. You're beautiful and nice just liked your mother."

I don't know what to say to her. I started to get relief when my mother interrupted this awkward moment.

"Ha ha ha ha ha…. I think we should talk it over tomorrow." She took Lisa's hands off my hand. "My daughter needs a lot of rest now, Lisa. Could you excuse us?"

"Ah, okay. Sorry about that. I was just excited every time I see newcomers here in our place." She looked at me. "You are welcome at my house anytime your mother's away. I love to see you hanging out or dating my son soon." She looked back to Lillian. "Bye for now." And she moved away.

When she was gone, I gazed at my mother with unease look. "Very hospitable, are they all like her?" I'm thinking to put my things in the car and go back to the city.

My mother started to laugh. "Don't worry, not all of them." She took my luggage out of her car. "Let's go inside before she comes back."

I immediately walked at the porch because I don't want any awkward meeting with Lisa. My mother laughed again. She unlocked the door, my mother took the lead. I followed here when she took her shoes off and placed it in a rack, and took a pair of slippers for her and another one for me.

"Actually, her son is good-looking." She walked inside the house.

"Really? Does he fall to the criteria as a hot guy?" As we both entered the next room which I thought was the living room.

It looked small from the outside but huge inside maybe because she doesn't have much appliances and furniture. The living room wall was light blue paint. There's a single and three-setter settee with a lampshade and a flat screen television, a cabinet with DVD player and CD's.

"Hey little woman, you're here to visit me and vacation with me." Reminding me what I'm here for.

I hugged her at the back. "I'm just teasing you."

"So, how's your boyfriend, Clarence?" Lillian asked.

I took my hand off her and walked in front of her. "Mom, don't say bad word."

She put my luggage down. "Lover's quarrel again?" She gazed at me with a raising eyebrow.

"We broke up." I showed her that I was not affected with the words came out off my mouth.

"How many times did you say that and ended up eating your own words." She was still not convinced with my answer.

Well, my mother knew everything about me and Clarence Cole. He was the only non-relative friend that I had. From being friends, as best friends to dating and end up being together as boyfriend and girlfriend. She also knew about how strict my father was when we were just dating, he let my twin sister go with us all the time. We almost broke up every month because of some stupid things and got back together. Mom used to that.

I rolled my eyes. "Mom, this time it's for real. He broke up with me."

"Really?" She's not convinced.

"Yes mom. It's over between us and its last." I'm hiding my irritation. "I just wanted to enjoy being single now and with you." I hugged her.

"That's right. You're still young. Enjoy your life being a teen. Love will wait and it will come at the right time and at the right place. And when that right time comes it will be-"She hugged me back.

"Mom, stop." I let go and said it with a hand gesture.

"Oh, is it too much?"

"Exaggerating," I honestly told her.

"Sorry, I'm just reminding you." She released her mother instinct.

"Yes mom, I understand." I started to smile.

"So let's go to your new room, upstairs." Lillian released me and held my hand. She held my luggage on the other hand.

Upstairs, there are four doors.

"That is the bathroom." She pointed the door in front of us. "The first door is my room. Next to it is study room." She pointed the two doors on our left side. "And this will be your room." She opened the door near us.

As we go inside, the place is so cool, and I love it. The walls were light blue paint, which also matched with the blue carpet. It has a bed in the middle with end table on the right side placed by a lampshade and an iPod speaker. On the right wall, a dresser, and a dresser with stool. On the left wall, there's a table with laptop on top of it, some organized books and a lamp. Opposite of the bed was a flat screen television, a DVD player, CD's and a PlayStation 3.

"Wow! This is amazing, mom. You put all of this together in a room. I could live here without going out." I walked around the room.

"Well, you're going to stay here so I make most out of it to make you feel comfortable." She paused. "I have to tell you something, there's a bit change of the plans but I don't want to cancel your vacation here so I think if all things are here you won't feel bored if I'm not around. But I promise you that I come home for dinner."

I walked to my mother and hugged her. "Mom, you don't have to do this. I understand. What matters is that were here-together. At least we spent our time together just a few months and I will treasure it for the rest of my life."

"Oh, I'm touch. I got tears in my eyes. I love you, my baby."

"I love you too mom." I really missed this moment. I just hope that my twin sister and dad were also here to share this happiness that I had with my mother.

At the moment, we heard a growl coming from my stomach. We looked at each other and laughed.

"I forgot. I'll cook while you unpacked your things," She wiped her tears.

I nodded and she went downstairs and I turned my iPod on. "New Perspective" by Panic at the Disco being played. I went to the balcony and gaze around at the beautiful scenery.

"Hello Forks! Be good for me for two months." With arms wide open.
