This is for the challenge '100 Quotes of Life Challenge.'
Having gone through labor two times before Percy, Molly would have thought that when it came time to do it again, it would be easy. But when the contractions came faster and more painful, she started to think that bringing Percy into the world would be a different experience then the one she had with Bill and Charlie.
"Arthur, it hurts." Molly moaned as she softly rocked herself back and forth, hoping it would help subside the pain.
"I know it does, baby, but whatever you do please don't cry. I can't stand it when you cry." Arthur replied quietly as he took a seat on their bed and rubbed her back softly. Having been woken up so abruptly, Arthur couldn't help but to think the worst. He wasn't expecting Percy to come so early. What if all his organs weren't fully developed, what if he didn't make it through the birth?
"My water just broke!" Arthur heard Molly groan as she started to move around in bed so she could get up and get a clean nightgown.
"We need to get you to the hospital, now!" Arthur stated, worry evident in his voice. He immediately stood up, grabbed the bag that they had already packed and walked over to were Molly was standing, apparating to the maternity ward once he felt her arms wrap around his chest. "Someone, please help me. I need a wheelchair for my wife, she's gone into labor early." Arthur called when they had safely made it to St. Mungo's. Hearing the panic in Arthur's voice, a nurse came rushing over to where they were standing, with a wheel chair in front of her, and helped Molly sit down. She then started wheeling her to an empty room with Arthur close behind.
"I'll get the mediwitch right now." The nurse said as she walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.
"I'm so proud of you, Molls." Arthur stated as he helped Molly stand up and lie down in the hospital bed. "Both the mediwitch and Percy will be here in a few minutes." He added as he kissed his wife's head.
Within minutes, the healer was rushing around, trying to get the baby out safely while keeping Molly's health steady. Not only was this birth going to be hard on the baby but it was going to be hard on the mother too.
Telling parents that there's a chance their baby might not live was something that was hard on healers; but it had to be done.
"Mr. and Mrs. Weasley?" Healer Scarsgar said as he walked into the hospital room Molly and Arthur were occupying, "It looks like he's not going to make it through the night." He added when he noticed the worried look on the new parent's faces. Hearing that she could possibly lose a child, Molly broke down and started crying. Not only did she have complications during Percy's pregnancy but she also had problems getting pregnant with him in the first place. She had miscarried twice before him and the healer said that if she had another miscarriage there was a possibility she could never have kids again.
"I love you, Molls." Arthur whispered once he crawled into the hospital bed and pulled her in close. At that moment, Molly's heart wasn't the only one aching. His heart broke the moment he heard his wife could lose another baby, someone who had been in her own womb.
That night though, Percival Ignatius Weasley ended up surviving his complicated and worrisome birth and grew up to be a very strong-minded person.
