I don't think Pokémon training should be legal.

Weird, huh? In a world where young, naïve children travel a dangerous world for seven meaningless badges with super-powered monsters "protecting them" (when they could just as easily turn on them), you would think I would be supportive of it.

Haha. No.

Has the government even seen the casualty numbers from "training"? (600,000 casualties worldwide last year!) If it should even be called that… the right word for it would be: slavery. After all, we humans are taking away these creatures from their own homes and families. We're disturbing the food chains, the ecosystem, and the environment.

And the government just ignores it like it's nothing to worry about. Training is a tradition, sure. However, is it justified? Is it moral? Is it safe? Of course not.

Why do they still let people, and most of all, kids, do it. There isn't anything even the slightest bit safe out there. Rough terrains, rough weather, rough predators… it's rough out there. Why would anyone sane want to do that?

Is everyone crazy? Or am I the one crazy? Is it wrong to think that forcing Pokémon to battle is a good thing? Then, people say that it's in their blood, that they have a will to fight others.

Puh-lease. Do not give me that bullshit. Pokémon have feelings too, they have their own minds, they are all individuals. Some don't want to fight, and those who do have been genetically and forcefully trained to do so.

Why am I the only one among millions who believes so? I have yet to meet a Pokémon abolitionist. Most famous ones, like that Team Plasma (although, I did not agree with their actions in achieving such a goal), were put down and arrested. Other abolitionists were denied their trial by jury, habeas corpus basically suspended for them. And they weren't even violent or "illegal" like Team Plasma.

Why? Training is a cash cow, too. It rakes in dough, which, I will admit, is healthy for the economy, but unhealthy for everything else.

So, a secret abolitionist like me, who is unable to speak his mind in fear of government juvenile facilities and alienation, has become a "Trainer". How?

I've been recruited by The Releasers.

Author's Note: Seems more like a rant than anything else. I guess this is the prologue. My first multi-chapter story! I don't know how long it will be, though. xD
