This one shot is dedicated to my wife, ladygris, for Valentine's Day. Please forgive the "rough edges" as she did not edit it...;-)

John walked up to he platform, a little nervous about the part he was about to play. When Jennifer asked him for this favor he had responded that is would be his honor, but now, as he sat down on the chair provided and reached to retrieve his guitar from it's stand, the weight of his role hit him squarely.
With a nod from Evan, John started playing an older country melody. Movement at the back of the Mess Hall that had been converted to a Chapel caught everyone's attention as Jennifer, in her mother's wedding dress, slowly made her way down the isle. As she cleared the back door, Sheppard started to sing:
All I am, all I'll be
Everything in this world
All that I'll ever need
Is in your eyes
Shining at me
When you smile I can feel
All my passion unfolding
Your hand brushes mine
And a thousand sensations
Seduce me 'cause I
Evan 's smile could not hope to contain the way he was feeling as Jennifer eyes were locked with his. It was like the whole base, world, even universe, didn't exist at this moment. And this song. She had told him that she planned a surprise for him, and that it would take place in the ceremony, but now, as she was making her way to the front, instead of using the traditional wedding march song...
I do cherish you
For the rest of my life
You don't have to think twice
I will love you still
From the depths of my soul
It's beyond my control
I've waited so long to say this to you
If you're asking do I love you this much
I do
Jennifer could see the passion coming through his eyes. She had known him for some time now. They'd been courting for the better part of a six months and she hadn't seen him show many emotions. Now, looking at his eyes she noticed they were softening, even moistening. It was almost like he could hear her singing this to him.
In my world, before you
I lived outside my emotions
Didn't know where I was going
'Till that day I found you
How you opened my life
To a new paradise
In a world torn by change
Still with all my heart
'Till my dying day
"Jennifer," Lorne said under his breathe, "can you hear it, this solemn vow I am giving you now? As you are getting closer to me, can see me moving closer to you? Do you know how perfectly this song fits the way a feel about you?"
John sang through the chorus one more time as Keller started up the stairs of the platform. In her mind, she thought, " There's no turning back now, no options of quitting or getting out. I hope you know the package you are receive when you receive me, because I know what I'm getting with you and my answer is still the same: I Do."
John finished the closing melody, set his guitar back on its stand and took up his place next to Jennifer for his next, and final 'official' part in this ceremony, giving her away on her father's behalf.
Simultaneously, Mr. Woolsey moved to the center of the platform to begin his officiation of this Wedding. It does not happen in Atlantis all that often, but for the next few moments, the only sound that could be heard came outside, from the waves of the ocean. Or was it the sound of two hearts beginning to beat as one...

Author's note: To my wife I'd like to say, I love you, more than words can say. Happy Valentine's Day!
