A short Sam&Jack story. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

I am here to say, I love you

The sun was setting and alpenglow apperead over the horizon. The wind was playing, gently with strands of my hair. Blooming trees decorated the landscape and the sound of birdsong echoed through my surroundings.

We walked up to the hill and the man walking next to me pointed to the bench we could sit on. Once again I looked around and enjoyed the view of landscape, which became flooded in red. I sat down. Without a single word, he sat down next to me.

He was squeezing my hands in his. His lips were moving ever so slightly, as he tried to muster the courage to say something. His breathing was accelerated. His every movement was full of tension. He only relaxed when I interweaved my fingers with his. It felt like I gave him the feeling of assurance. I had no idea what was going on in his mind. I could not percieve anything other than the silence that was surrounding us, and the accelerated beat of his heart which seemed to be getting louder and louder.

"Jack, what's going on?" I asked in a low voice. I was afraid that a louder tone of my voice would scare him. I stroke his cheek. He finally raised his head and looked into my eyes.

"Sam?" he turned to me. Jack nervously shuffled closer, he simply wanted to sit closer to me. Our bodies were touching. During this moment, when there was only silence stretched all around us, I didn't dare to look away. His eyes were literally burning the skin on my face. He wanted to tell me something really important.

I started to worry.

I was afraid of the words that were about to come out of his mouth and his lips were shaking.

I was afraid of the lips, which I wanted to kiss so badly.

"Will you marry me?" he said and the grip on his hands tightened. Jack was waiting for my answer.

To be honest, I was surprised. I didn't expect that. My whole body was trembling. I wanted to scream with joy. I wanted to shout to the whole world how happy I was in that moment. I could not wait any longer. My fingers touched his face. He was burning. Jack really was nervous.

I approached him and pressed my lips to his soft lips. After a few fleeting kisses my lips moved to his right ear.

"Yes, I will," I answered his question. I could not imagine how powerful those words were. He enthusiastically jumped off the bench, grabbed my hand and pulled me up towards him. He hugged me tightly.

"I love you, Sam," he whispered.

"I love you too."

I don't even know how long we stood there, in the embrace, immersed in the beautiful sense of harmony.
The sun had set and the landscape around us began to cover in one last kiss he grabbed my hand. Hand in hand we were heading home.
It was the happiest moment of my life.
