The sky is red.

I wonder why.

Is it from the blood that has been spilled, or does it warn of what is to come?

This morning, the sky is very red.

I know the colour well.

I know how it spills out, how it flows, how it stains, how it burns.

It burns very much. Like a fire, a forge, heated beyond endurance.

And that sky, the red sky, is mocking me.

If the Valar mean to remind me of my sins, they have done well.

If they hope to inspire repentance, they have failed.

The red oath inside burns more fiercely than does the red sky outside.

It is a sign of foreshadowing, I think. But it is not time yet.

Let the red sky burn me when it will. I follow my fate.

So. It was supposed to be about Maedhros, but it also turned out to be about Feanor. Take your pick.
