Chapter. 1, Death
March 16
I awoke to the unpleasant sound of cannon shots and gunfire, as usual. There was no need to call the crew and ask what was going on, it's the same story every time. It would either be bounty hunters or marines hounding after my head. Day and night they come. Killing the wretches is no hard task. However, they seem to multiply even more after another. Like a hydra for example…cut off one head and more replace that one. I shook my head lightly and grabbed a book to read, in hopes that my crew could deal with the situation, but even they can be worthless at times like this. None of them ever seem to posses any skills, only a handful have become worthy of combat. Some don't even last more than a week. I am not concerned though. The less idiots I have to sail with the better. It seems to me I have to baby-sit those weaklings from time to time, that was before I had met Django. Thanks to him I don't seem to need to bother spending time with them more than I used to. He keeps them in line and straightens them out. And as a plus, he can hypnotize them into thinking they're strong behemoths in battles….. They are all still useless worms though. Nothing but murdering, looting and raping on their minds. I adjusted my glasses and tried to concentrate reading the book as the sounds became louder with each page.
I gave a short sigh. This was the life I lived…a pirates life, a dog's life. Ever to be chased by these so called "heroes" people would say. Heroes indeed…I had seen what those frauds are capable of. They are no different than the scoundrels I travel with. Where were they when that incident happened?…..I quickly shook those memories away and returned to my book. In which, I would get interrupted by the ever sounding cannons of those dogs. This was becoming too much, too stressful for me to handle. I stared over at the bag that homed my best choice. Perhaps if I was quick I could return and sleep the rest of the night. I sat up and began to place my feet down, those damned marine fools will not have the captain's bounty tonight, or ever….
I stopped with one foot upon floor. Of course….how simple it was. This entire time I had not noticed before, the source of the never ending chases. 'Captain Kuro', the very name that strikes fear into the hearts of men and pirates alike. The same name that causes these persisting nuisances. I sat back and continued reading. Those moronic fools wanted Captain Kuro, well….I better not disappoint them.
