To float and sink together

Bangladesh shifted his position in the bed. He had been bedridden for a while now, before it had only been so when a typhoon hit every 20 to 30 years. Bet it had gotten worse, he had suffered to three typhoons' in the last two years. The reason behind it was the global warming. People on other places on the earth as Europe and North America were of course concerned by global warming but they didn't suffer as he did.

He suffered major floods; they destroyed his people's houses and farms and forced thousands of them to flee to the capital where they would end up living in the slums. Bangladesh tried to keep himself from yelling out in pain when even more land disappeared into the water.

Even his capital was suffering from the floods. The polluted water could stay on the streets for seven days before it the disappeared and the water brought disease. The number of deaths had increased.

The swamps around the city had usual helped absorb the water put even they had started disappearing because of factors such as poverty and greed.

In this process Bangladesh had even start losing hope about surviving the global warming.

The worst thing was that it wasn't really his fault and it was nothing he could do about it. He grinded his teeth's together at the thought. His people were suffering and it was nothing, nothing he could do about it. He hated it. He hated the fact that he had to depend on tributes from the rich countries. That didn't mean he wasn't grateful for the help but it made him feel useless.

Tears had slowly made their way down his check and made him feel even more depressed. He turned to his side and tried to fall asleep in a desperate hope of escaping reality.

When England went to check on Bangladesh he was already asleep and he didn't want to wake him up so he closed the door to the room and left.

As he was on his way out a shadow made itself known and said.

"Bangladesh is really suffering, da?"

England stopped and turned towards the speaker. "Yes, and you know as well as me that the reason is our fault more than his, Russia."

Said nation just smiled his creepy smile as always and it was impossible to tell what he was thinking. "Since when did the former British Empire care about others?"

England just turned around and walked away from him, muttering an answer more to himself then to the other.

"Because in this question… we will float or sink together."
