An Ode…to Lue
This is a story about Lue, not of his more known brother, Mac, but Lue. He was an average person of average proportions. He didn't like fame as much as his brother Mac, but he always was secretly jealous. But, let's get to his story…
Lue was a normal, nice guy. But he was always second in just about everything. He was even born a second after Mac. He was second in class, second in any competition, and second in his adulthood as well. Both the brothers started out as carpenters, only one stayed one. Mac went on to "bigger and better things." While Lue kept his job, and lived in a small house in Brooklyn. While "Big Mac" as his nickname became, was the star boxer for the Tyson Championship Boxing Series, (TCBS). Nevertheless, Lue was content and happy. He got good pay, a good home, and a good life. He even got a girlfriend, the one thing he got before Mac he thought. Her name was Delilah, and he thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world. They seemed made for each other. A pair fit for romance novels. However, soon Mac would not strive to be the second this time, either. On the day, Lue proposed to Delilah, soon after Mac found a girl of his own, Patricia. Patricia was known as a supermodel, and high-end celebrity for the latest fashions. It seemed strange, but right for the couple to be dating in the famed world they lived in. Nevertheless, Lue didn't care. As long as he had his love, he was content. Then, Mac proposed. It was a shock to all America for them to wed after only a month of dating, and obviously caused much gossip. Lue also found it suspicious, that Mac scheduled the wedding the same week as their wedding, but once again, Lue did not care. As long as he had her love, he was content. So as the wedding week approached, tensions raised. And then, Lue's best day of his life, became his worst by one phrase: "I- I think we should have the wedding another night." This was uttered none other than Delilah, a day before the wedding. Naturally, Lue was distraught. Not only did he feel he lost his one chance at happiness, as a "postponement," but also, he lost his one chance, at being first. He lost his chance to be the first against his brother. Mac married first, Lue was second. As always, Lue was second, and content…
Or was he…
