#16. "Take my jacket."

Nico Di Angelo was freaking freezing. He had not been ready for this kind of cold, so he hadn't even bothered with putting on a sweater, much less a jacket so fluffy like the one Will was carrying. The son of Apollo didn't even look bothered by the cold, as he was skipping happily through the street. Nico had never loved Christmas, but to Will it seemed an excuse to be as cheery as he could be. Well, more than usual.

After a tiresome shopping trip that had extended through the whole day, they had ended up walking to their apartment. Will had insisted, saying it was too pretty outside to take a boring cab home. So now they were walking home, and Nico was freezing.

"After all, I didn't know what to get Hazel, so i just got her a perfume." Will said. "Is that too cliche?"

He stopped skipping, and waited for Nico to catch up with him.

"I don't know. I think she'll like it, though." Nico said.

"Glad you do!" Will replied.

He reached down to grab Nico's hand, then jumped when he touched it. It was really cold, as if it was freezing. Colder than usual, as Nico was always kind of cold. Will had concluded it was probably a child of Hades thing. Still, his boyfriend looked grumpy and unhappy, and Will frowned.

"Here." He said. "Take my jacket."

"I don't need it!" Nico immediately replied. "I'm not cold!"

"Nico, you're making an effort not to shiver." Will said. Seeing Nico's stubborn frown, he added, "Please."

He sighed and took the fluffy, gray jacket Will was offering him. As soon as he put it on, he couldn't refrain from giving a small satisfied sigh. It was really warm and comfortable, and he smiled at Will.

"Thanks, Will." He said.

"No problem!" Will replied.

They walked home, smiling at each other. Nico was just laughing at a stupid joke Will had told him when they reached a small coffee shop. Will immediately brightened and dragged Nico inside.

"But warm chocolate!" He said, ignoring Nico's complaints. "Please? At least a coffee? I don't want you to die of hypothermia."

"Fiiiiineeee." Nico said, stretching out the word.

He approached the counter and offered a tired smile to the waiter on the other side, who smiled back. He knew how hard it was to work during the Christmas time. He ordered a black coffee for himself and a hot chocolate for Will. The barista gave them their drinks and they were on their way, slowly sipping form the warm cups.

They had not finished their warm drinks when they got home, so Nico put his coffee aside and clung to Will.

"I want chocolate…" He whispered to Will.

"Nah, this one's mine!" Will said. "Besides, you don't even like hot chocolate."

"False!" Nico said. "I love hot chocolate!"

"Then you'll have to fight me for it." Will said.

Before he could do anything, the son of Hades jumped on top of him and pushed him on to the couch. He kissed him lips, tracing his hands through his hair and torso. Will was too stunned to do anything, and it took him a whole ten seconds to retaliate. He kissed Nico back, but too soon he was off him.

"What was that?" Will said.

"Nothing." Nico said. "I just wanted hot chocolate."

It took a moment for Will to understand what was happening. Then, he realized Nico was holding the hot chocolate in his hands, sipping from the straw attached to the cup. He smiled at him, and Will snorted.

"Still not fair." Will said.

"Oh really?" Nico asked. "Want to fight me for it?"

Immediately, Will moved to Nico's lap, kissing him. He smiled against his lips. Maybe cold weather isn't so bad, he thought, taking off the jacket and throwing it across the room. Maybe.
