AN: I'm currently re-watching One Piece and man, oh man! I forgot how much I loved Zoro. He's such a sexy beast! *sigh* anyway, I'm getting way off topic. Here's a one shot for y'all =]
It was obvious that Hikari was head over heels for Zoro. While she secretly stole glances at Zoro and blushed whenever he was nearby, Zoro paid no attention to the poor girl. He continued with his business, training and exercising, while Hikari pined for him from afar.
It was Hikari's birthday and the Straw Hat crew was celebrating. Sanji cooked an extravagant meal and a beautiful cake while Brook played lively music and Franky set off fireworks into the night sky. Everyone ate, drank, and was merry; this birthday was, by far, the best birthday Hikari ever had. After they finished feasting, Robin brought out the cake and everyone sang "happy birthday" to Hikari. She closed her eyes, made a wish, and blew out the candles.
"Hikari, what'd you wish for?" Luffy asked.
"Yeah, tell us!" Usopp chimed.
Hikari shook her finger at the two boys.
"If I tell you, then my wish won't come true!"
"I bet I know what it is!" Nami giggled.
Hikari sputtered, glanced at Zoro, and chased after Nami in an attempt to shut her up. Sanji hmph-ed and shot a glare at Zoro as he lit a cigarette and took a deep puff.
"Damn moss head. Even I know what she wished for," it was amazing how quickly Sanji switched moods, "Hikari-swannnnnn, let me fulfil your wish for you~"
Zoro shook his head and clicked his tongue at the cook's words.
"Damn perverted cook."
After many more rounds of feasting, drinking, and partying, the crew fell asleep on the deck, sleeping soundly under the stars. Hikari was glad she didn't drink that much; if she did, she would've missed out on the meteor shower that was happening. She leaned against the railing and watched the brilliant show in the sky. It wasn't what she wished for, but it was a nice way to end her birthday.
"Shouldn't you be sleeping?"
Hikari jumped when she heard Zoro's voice; his appearance was unexpected and Hikari was always amazed that he could hold his liquor so well.
"I didn't drink that much so I'm fine. What about you? You drank a lot, as always."
Zoro scoffed, "That was nothing."
Hikari returned her attention to the sky,
"Isn't it beautiful? This is a nice way to end my birthday."
Zoro shifted uncomfortably; the stupid cook's words kept ringing in his head.
Damn moss head. Even I know what she wished for.
Zoro cleared his throat and wiped his hands against his coat. He couldn't believe he was feeling nervous.
"Oi, Hikari."
"Hm?"
Without a word, Zoro took her into his arms and kissed her.
"…Happy birthday."
He quickly turned and walked away, his face as red as a tomato, while Hikari was dumbfounded. Did Zoro really kiss her? Was it all a dream? Hikari pinched herself and it hurt; nope, it wasn't a dream. Hikari squealed happily but quickly stopped because she didn't want anyone to wake up. Still, she was definitely going to tell Nami and Robin about it in the morning.
