"this is totally awkward considering before this the only interactions we've ever had have been casual nods to each other in the hallway but there's a huge spider in my bath tub please help me AU" The spider was probably the missing pet tarantula belonging to the guy down the hall. But what mattered to Elaine was that it was sitting in her bathtub.

Ban yawned and scratched his stomach while going to the door, frowning at the rapid knocking.

"Alright, Mel, what did you -" he stopped and looked where his best friend's head usually was, frowning when his head wasn't there, "-forget?"

"Excuse me?" Squeaked a small voice much lower than where Meliodas' head usually was. Ban looked further down and blinked in surprise at his cute neighbor, standing in front of him in a kitten-print nightgown, her eyes wide with fear.

"Hey, uh… Elaine, right?" He frowned at her, watching her nod.

"I'm very sorry to bother you so…" she paused and glanced at his clothes before finishing, "-early, but, um…"

"Do you need a cup of sugar or something?" He drawled, dragging his hand down his face.

"Um, no, I just - uh…" she seemed unable to say what was on her mind, fidgeting and wringing her hands.

"Look, if you aren't going to tell me -"

"There's a spider in my bathtub!" He froze in the middle of closing his door and frowned at the woman.

"Are you serious?"

"I know you think I'm crazy, but you don't understand - it's huge!" She exclaimed, tears clinging to her eyelashes. "I think it's the pet tarantula belonging to the other -" she paused and looked towards one of the two doors on the hallway - the one belonging to the pink-haired weirdo who seemed to be incapable of using emotion in his voice. "I tried getting him, but he isn't home. I have a glass jar I can put it in until he gets back but every time I get closer to it, it just scurries away and it's so big I can actually see all of the legs moving -"

"Alright, alright~" He sighed, interrupting her as she started to hyperventilate. "I'll get the damn spider for you~"

"Really?" She sighed with relief.

"If…" He began to say, the gears in his head visibly turning.

"If what?" She asked, tilting her head to the side cutely.

"You get coffee with me this afternoon~" he said, leaning down and grinning at her. Her cheeks flushed as she gazed up at him, but after a few moments she nodded shyly. "Great~ Let's get this eight-legged bastard taken care of~"

A/N: I was tempted to have it be Ban who would be scared of spiders, but for the sake of the prompt I decided to go with it another way.
