True Feelings

"So many things that I wish I could say outloud."

Hinamori laid in her hospital bed silently. She stared at the ceiling over her. She heard people of the 4th division outside her room rushing back and fourth down the halls. Her breathing was slow as she remembered why she was in there in the first place.

Aizen.

"How could I have been so stupid.." She thought silently to herself. She shut her eyes tightly, wanting to forget everything.

She felt so.. abandoned. She felt.. alone. She had no one. No one?

She opened her eyes slowly, remembering something. Someone. Someone who had been there. Someone who had been there from the start.

"Shiro..-chan.." She whispered quietly. She felt her eyes start to water, but she didn't stop the tears as they came out. She tightly gripped the sheets to her side as she whispered once more. "Shiro-chan.."

"What?" A voice came.

Hinamori turned her head toward the voice. She didn't even hear anyone come in.

Hitsugaya was sitting in a chair, looking down at Hinamori.

"Hinamori.. are you okay?" he asked with concern.

The weak girl looked up into the turquoise eyes. The eyes she loved.

"What.. makes you ask that?" she asked in a weak voice.

"You were crying and calling out my name a few seconds ago. Are you feeling okay?" he asked as he placed his hand on her wrist. Hinamori moved her gaze from his eyes to his hand on her wrist.

"How.. am I.. feeling?" She asked herself in her head. She looked back up into his eyes.

"I'm frustrated because I can't tell if this is real."

"I'm mad because I don't know how you feel."

"I'm upset because we can't make it right."

"I'm sad because I need you every day and night."

"I'm angry because you won't take my hand."

"I'm aggravated because you don't understand."

"I'm disappointed because.. we can't be together."

"I hate myself because no matter how hard I try.. I'll love you forever."

"Hinamori?"

Hinamori snapped out of her thoughts and came back to reality. She focused back on the turquoise orbs that were staring at her, worried.

"Hinamori, listen, are you feeling okay?" He was really concerned now. Hinamori simply looked up and smiled.

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me." She said, trying to sound as cheerful as possible, averting eye contact. She then turned her body around so her back was now facing him. "I'm going to go to sleep now. You should head back to your office, you probably have paperwork."

Hitsugaya stared at the girl's back. "Yeah.. I do. I'll see you later then. Okay, Hinamori?" He said as he began to walk to the door.

"Mmhm, you too." She replied back.

He put his hand on the doorknob and twisted it. He looked back over his shoulder at the girl he grew up with. The girl he couldn't protect. He closed his eyes in guilt as he opened the door and left to the 10th division.

Hinamori heard the door close. Her breathing got faster as she began to shake uncontrollably. She placed both of her hands over her eyes and began to sob.

"Come back.. Shiro-chan.."
