Title: Strong Enough.
Disclaimer: I don't own CSI.
Gil has always thought of himself as a coward and a weakling when it comes to interpersonal relationships. He is not a people person. A fact that he's been reminded of many times, by many people throughout his life. He's not good at expressing his feelings, and he's clueless when it comes to crying women and children.
So when anyone has a problem, they go to Catherine. She alone seems to have the answers to everyone dilemmas' and a strong shoulder to cry on.
Yet ironically, when she needs someone, she goes to him.
When a case is tough or her latest beau dumps her for a younger model, she comes to him. She knocks on the door his townhouse and as soon he answers, she wraps pale arms around him.
She doesn't expect anything from him, except for him to listen – which he is good at.
She calls him her tree because he is strong, tall and dependable.
He used to argue with her, tell her that she is wrong. He is just a man, he would say. She never listened to him.
After a while, he stopped arguing. Because in the end it doesn't matter whether he thinks he's strong enough, only that she thinks so.
The End
