A/N: After watching "Nailed" so many times on my iPod, and seeing none of this relationship, I needed to get this out. Many apologies that this isn't long beforehand.
DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, I don't own CSI: Miami. There'd be better stories on the show, then…

"You always take his side," he complained.
Calleigh Duquesne sighed. How many times had she heard that come from one of her two best friend's mouths? It was impossible to say. One was always arguing with the other about something, and it was really starting to get on her nerves. Especially when they always stuck her in the middle.
How was it she was so lucky to have to completely different men fighting for her affections at the same time every day? One was a Hispanic whom she had worked with for the last four years; one joined the team only a few months ago as a new person, still trying to find his place in the lab. Both were cute, to say the least. People in the lab were always trying to guess who she would go with. Some said Ryan for his looks; some said Eric for his attitude towards her.
Truth was, even she didn't know where her heart belonged.
Stuck in the middle.
Did she always have to get this feeling? It was one or the other, pulling her strings to convince her to go with one or the other. She broke up their fights, talked to them differently, and anything to get them to stop arguing with her.
And Ryan.
Ryan Wolfe was honestly somewhat cute in Calleigh's eyes. She always put the love of her job before the love of her life, though. It was a rule of thumb. Even so, she couldn't believe the pull of the magnet towards him.
And Eric.
Eric Delko was a completely different matter all together. He had confronted her about constantly sticking up for Ryan in a private place...
"What is wrong with you? You're taking the newbie's side."
Her eyes widened. "Excuse me? I'm sorry, but cut him some slack, Eric. He's new to the whole CSI: thing. Ryan's been here for approximately three months."
His face twisted a little. "He should know better. You never take my side anymore in an argument. Stick up for the young kid, huh?"
"It's not like that," she pleaded.
Eric merely snorted and left the room in a huff.
Why was she the one caught in the twists of love?
Ryan's words echoed in the back of her mind from two seconds of standing in the elevator. "You always take his side."
She sighed wearily and looked up to the ceiling, contemplating those words carefully.
"Funny how he says the same thing about you."
A/N: Another one-shot! Woo-hoo! Review, please and thank you!
