I do not own Final Fantasy Seven or any of the characters
Most people say if you have a bad day, the next one should be better. Yuffie, however, was stuck in a bad day that never ended. Although what she had done was normal behavior, for her anyways, it ruined her life along with almost causing the planets destruction. She, attempting to restore her homeland's honor, theived a one of a kind materia created in case Sephiroth came back; And following the tradition of her rotten luck, he did.
Luckily, Vincent devised an alternate way to defeat the silver-headed nuisance, and since it was his plan that saved the planet, he was praised and awarded for his deed. As usual, Yuffie was scolded and ignored for what she had done. Reno even had the nerve to tell her that she screwed up everything up and that they would be better off without her. That comment sparked a realization. The group only kept her around so they would have someone to blame for their problems. So she decided she would teach them a lesson.
A year passed, and few were noticing the small but devastating changes happening to Yuffie, such as her depression, her massive loss of weight, and the dozens of scars on her wrists and arms. In her eyes, she was giving them what they wanted by slowly fading into nothingness. No matter what people told her, she believed that no one would care if she died, Hell! They'd probably throw a party to celebrate a burden being lifted off of them. She was in a rut, slowly dying, but it was okay, to her at least...Until that day.
They were all at the bar when on a offhand comment, Tifa mentioned the events that happened the year previous. Cloud then went off on the battle with Sephiroth. It escalated to the point that she was blamed for Sephie coming back in the first place. Yuffie knew they were joking, but it hurt her to the deepest darkest part of her soul. That was when she snapped.
She excused herself to go to the bathroom. After locking the door behind her, she pulled a katana out of the sheath on her back. She lifted it up in the air and drove it through her chest.
As blood poured down her torso, trickled down her legs, and formed a puddle at her feet. She thought of every bad memory, every insult, every negative emotion that was felt in their life. She knew that the world would be happier and peace would resume when this was over.
She heard commotion outside...They knew something was wrong. She felt her strength leaving her to the beat of the footsteps running down the hall. She knew it was over as the bathroom door flew off its hinges and smashed into the wall behind her.
The view of her friends filling up the room was the sight she saw as she breathed her final words..."It wasn't supposed to end this way."
And then the world went dark.
I put this ending for a reason. You can decide whether she lives or dies. That is part of the mystery.
