I wrote this for my friend Julia who gave me the promts- Steve/Danno Surfing lessons. Steve teaches Danno to surf. She liked it, So I figured I might as well post it here:P :) Originally posted on Tumblr.
"No. No no no NO." Is the first thing Danny says when he finds Steve, and not Kono, waiting for him on the beach.
"Where is kono? Please tell me that you are just hiding her somewhere because I did not agree to this." He continues, as Steve does his best to look offended.
"There is only one reason I agreed to doing this in the first place, except for making Grace happy. ONE. And that was that I would be taught by an actual PRO. And no Steve-"He interrupts when Steve starts to say something "-being taught when you were little does not mean that you are a pro. I don't care how awesome that guy who taught you was. And besides, it did help that I was being taught by an attractive young woman, so that people would look more at her than at my poor attempt on standing on this thing." He gestures to the surf board. Steve tries to talk again but is stopped by a finger held up in front of his face. "NOT FINISHED. A grown man, on HAWAII, being taught how to surf by another grown man, that is just sad. At least with Kono, I could pretend that I was just trying to get into her pants."
"So pretend." Steve says with a shrug as Danny stops for a breath, and drags Danny towards the surf board.
"Don't worry" He continues with a grin "I'll make it very plausible. I have been in the navy after all." At witch Danny has to scowl.
"Oh okay so we're playing the gay flirting game now? That's great. Because what I want more than being labeled as sad is being labeled as gay. Thank you."
"Really, Danno? I hadn't pegged you for the discriminating type of guy. What with all the-"Steve makes a hand wave that clearly mean all of him, "...Touchy feely stuff." Steve comments as he corrects Danno's stance on the board.
"I- I am not homophobic, thank you very much. I have many gay friends. One. Female. STILL. People should be with who they like."
"Yes, exactly" Steve says with a smile and puts his hands on Danny's hips as to angle him a little more sideways. Then he keeps them there.
"Anyways that's… That's just-"He shifts a bit under the touch, glancing at the people around him.
"-what I tried to say. Not homophobic, no. Not me." Danny finishes lamely. Steve Chuckles and moves even further up in Danny's personal space.
"So then this isn't making you uncomfortable at all?" And there's a challenge in his voice.
"Not at all, babe." Danny says back, with gritted teeth, accepting the challenge by placing his hands on Steve's upper arms
"…Am I interrupting something?" Kono says, appearing out of nowhere just beside them.
"Nah, I'm just giving Danno a few tips while we were waiting" Steve says with a smile, but takes his time untangling himself from Danny.
"He's all yours!" He says and leaves. Kono arches an eyebrow at the hints of red on Danny's cheeks.
"Are you-"
"Shut up, okay? Just- don't say anything. Let's get this surfing lesson thing over with."
"Sure thing Brah" Kono says with a smirk. As they walk down towards the waves she swears she can hear Danny mutter, "I hate him. I hate him so much."
