TITLE: Scars
PAIRING: Dawn/Faith
RATING: PG-13
SUMMARY: A little post-coital questionnaire, from Dawn to Faith.

Faith's body is oddly devoid of scars and blemishes, with one notable exception. One of the perks of being a Slayer, she always says, super healing. But you know different. You know there's a paper thin scar right above her belly button - all but invisible. Your tongue follows that path every time you lick your way down her body.

"What did it feel like?" You ask her after sex, your legs tangled in hers and your fingers tracing that scar on her stomach. There's no need to ask her what it was from. No. It was Buffy, everyone knows that.

"Like surprise," she responds. You smile slightly. Faith likes to play up her bad girl days but hates anyone mentioning her betrayal of Buffy. "Like blood."

"Does it ever hurt?" Faith grimaces at the line of questioning but answers still.

"Just in my head. Do yours?" You think of your own body, the long jagged one down your right arm, the 'shallow cuts' across your stomach and how you got them. You think of the two little marks on your neck where a vamp bit you before Buffy saved you. You think of the three pink, raised ones on your back and the curved line on your calf.

"No, not really. They just remind me," you hug Faith closer, "I just wondered if being stabbed deep is any different."

She shifts her body so you're both lying face to face. She doesn't answer, only kisses your lips softly once. She looks down at you softly and you remember the first time she ever looked at you like that. In the dining room, a week or so before the final battle.

"Yes," she whispers, "but that is never going to happen to you. It was way too hard to get you in the sack for me to just let you die."

You laugh, pinching Faith's arm. She growls something about other Slayer perks but she already has you pinned and once again you're at her mercy.
