Unrequited

Note: I do not own Phineas and Ferb. Disney does.
Isabella loves Phineas, so much more than he knows. She loves him with every fiber of her heart and the metaphysical make-up of her soul. All she thinks about when in bed and at school is him; his triangular shaped head, his red spiky hair, his blue eyes. His smile is contagious too. Her heart flutters whenever he greets her or hugs her or smiles at her. He doesn't know how much she loves him, but soon he will. Soon, he will….
Isabella is mustering up the courage to reveal her feelings to him during the field trip to the nearby woods. She practiced all night, flirting with the mirror. It was hard but she was capable of doing it. She is strong, after all. The color in her cheeks is turning a deep shade of red and she is smiling nervously at him. Her fingers are twirling a single strand of her jet black hair as she looks up at him. He's smiling as she opens her mouth and, after a pause to gather her thoughts, speaks those embarrassing words to him. After she gets them out, however, his smile falls.
Oh no. He's just told her that he only likes her as a friend. Isabella's smile falters then stabilizes and then falls permanently. Confusion leaps into her throat and floods her mind, shattering her fantasies. Her world spirals- no teters- on the edge of the dark void of depression as she asks him to repeat himself. Phineas is taken aback but takes a deep breath, licks his lips, and repeats himself.
Those words stab Isabella through the heart. They shatter her world into a storm of glass fractures; effectively ending her fantasies once and for all. She freezes, eyes wide and staring into his. The feeling that she has is- is- is not good. Not good at all. Pain, emotional pain. Burning, smoldering hellfire of emotions ripple through her heart. Anger? Regret? Hatred? Hurt? They all flash through in an instant and are replaced by one definite feeling. Hurt.
A deep blue cold hurt that grabs her spirit, usually high and optimistic in a way, and pulls it down into the pits of heartbreak. She can't breath. Tears begin to flow from her eyes as she runs away from him, unable to hear his declaration of continued friendship (ha) over the ringing in her ears. She runs, and runs, and runs until she can't hear Phineas calling her name anymore. She runs deeper into the woods and eventually stops at a big old tree. Isabella can't stand anymore out of exhaustion so, she falls to the base of it, leaning against it. The world hurts her. She curls her legs to her small frame and buries her head into her arms. She cries for so long, drowning the hurting world out.
When Phineas and the others find her, she's just like that. Against the tree, head buried in her arms, tears streaming down her face. However, she isn't crying any longer. She's just leaning there, silent, and as Ferb steps closer to touch her arm, she smiles. No shaking can wake her up, no shrieking can snap her back. No response to a slap. Phineas and Ferb and Baljeet and Buford and the others can't wake her, oh, they can't wake her no matter how hard they try.
Isabella will never wake up to face a life without Phineas' affections. But she doesn't care. After all, she has an active fantasy life.
