So, if you saw on my Tumblr, I made that post that was something along the lines of: 'just imagine if Jay snuck a little note in the blueprint to Cole that was something like: You're doing great, Sweetie!'

And of course, it was just too cute and literally one of my new favorite things... plus EVE, I'm looking at you, yes, convinced me to write a short little oneshot on it. X3 I wanted to draw a picture... but I'm on this huge artist block at the moment so sigh.

But I hope you all enjoy this short little thing!

Everything sucked.

Cole was frustrated, and hungry, and alone. Well, not completely alone. He had Little Wu with him to keep him company, not to mention the little guy was also pretty ruthless and smart for his age.

That still didn't change anything, however. It was hot, and it was dry. In addition to that, they still had no way - no clue of how to get back home to Ninjago City.

His friends were captured and held prisoners by the Dragon Hunters. Even the other half of the Bounty was taken from them. For several days he and Wu had been following them around, the five of them trying to scheme a plan to break out.

Every hour they spent with the Dragon Hunters proved to be a difficult task if they were to break out and free the dragons too.

The Dragon Hunters were prepared with everything. They had someone at every corner, weapons and chains, they even knew how to attract dragons. But when they thought getting captured was the worst part of it, derailing them from their attempt to get back home, they grew to learn more about the Dragon Hunters and the dragons of this world.

To their surprise, the Oni could shapeshift - at least, that's what Iron Baron had said.

At one point, even, Cole had felt a little sympathetic towards the hunters. That night at the campfire while his friends were being used as bait, Cole had learned that the hunters were scared of the dragons. They were just like regular people, struggling to survive in a realm where the Oni and dragons lived.

But that still didn't change any fact that they had captured his friends and put them through deadly obstacles. He had to rescue them.

The good news for him and his friends were that that time would come soon.

Tonight, they were breaking out.

Jay had come up with a plan to build a fake dragon and make the hunters believe that it was Firstbourne. While the hunters were distracted, whoever wasn't piloting the fake dragon would break them out.

So, Cole and Wu had found a spot not too far away from the camp and set up shop to build the dragon.

Jay was in charge of drawing the blueprints, and once that was done, slowly and carefully, but surely, they would get the parts and tools needed to build their distraction.

Cole awaited at the top of the sandy, dusty, and rocky hill, his eyes locked on the camp while Wu worked on collecting the blueprint from Jay.

A small part of him was doubting their plan. What if the dragon failed to keep the hunters distracted long enough? What if something slipped up and he and Wu got caught as well?

Cole clenched his fists and shook his head in attempt to clear his head away from such negative thoughts. He had to stay positive, he had to keep his head up and his hopes up.

But he was still afraid.

Suddenly, in the distance, he saw Little Wu scurrying across the desert with a wheelbarrow in front of him and manure piled on top of it.

Cole waved his hands in the air, relief flooding through him as Wu met him at the top.

"Got the blueprints!" He cried and stopped the wheelbarrow in an open spot.

Cole held his breath and dug through the manure to retrieve the blueprints.

"Jay said that it should support you when you fly," Little Wu added, catching his breath. Little did he know that Jay would end up being wrong and Cole would end up being too heavy to take flight.

The Master of Earth nodded although he didn't really hear a thing his young Master had said. Instead, he was looking over the blueprints, taking in every little detail.

That was until his eye caught something out of the ordinary.

It was a small note, at the bottom of the page. The very first word on it said:

Cole.

"Hmm."

Little Wu is so savage! Ahah, amiright?

Cole tried to hold back from laughter. Of course Jay would add that note.

But anyways, you got this, Dirtclod :) Positive thinking… oh and good vibes!

There was a large smudge before the letter continued. Cole snorted.

You're doing great, Sweetie ;)

A short laugh escaped Cole and he held the blueprint closer to him, reading over the note one last time. Just those words made Cole feel like the pressure on his shoulders had gotten lighter; he felt like he could do anything!

A smile tickled his face.

Maybe there was hope after all.
