Hoping
You didn't see the tears in his eyes as he sits there taking in what happened. He's asking a million questions, yet knows no answers.
It's a painful feeling, it is, but what can he do about it? The answer is nothing. He's hopeless. He can't do a thing, only she can.
Only she can come back and ask him for forgiveness for what she's done. That would make things slightly better. Yes, they'd still have to work on their relationship, but forgiveness is the first step to mending, but how can he forgive her if she doesn't ask?
He's done no wrong. He remained loyal, so why did this happen? Why would she go and break his heart?
He wouldn't wish this on his worst enemies, this pain is too much to bare. Heartbreak is not a simple thing to deal with. The pain will take a long time to go away, but somehow he'll get over it, someday.
Should he talk to her? Should he tell her he knows?
He remains puzzled, wondering.
He loves her, but does she still love him?
He'd do anything for her, but would she do anything for him?
When you love someone you never want to see anything bad happen to them. Does she love him?
He has to confront her. He has to do it.
Part of him wants to hurt her, but he won't let that part win. He loves her too much to see her hurt.
He loves her too much to let her go.
She's an amazing woman, at least to him.
He loves her more than anything. He can't let her go this easily. He has to confront her and see what happens. He has to be given answers. He needs to know why.
He may not like the answers, but he needs to know.
And so he goes to confront her, hoping it'll end well... hoping.
